yknow maybe i'm just a filthy lesbian but i think if kojima had just said
'yeah quiet doesn't wear a lot of clothes because she doesn't like wearing clothes'
instead of making up some bullshit about breathing through her skin, it would have been a lot more believable to me. like you could have just not done the fan service altogether, but you know,
i don't like wearing clothes either and if i was a no-fucks-given lethal ass sniper i would wear as little clothing as i could get away with.
it makes sense, and it's more relatable than being a fucking land shark
How about "Quiet Me"? This one sounded tempting. (Fill free to challenge ask me too for a drabble back.) 😗🤓
This sounded angsty so I went that route! Warning, it is very sad and touchy (I think anyway) and thank you for this prompt Cass, it was very sobering and sorry if you expecting another humor one! I just saw the angst call out to me so I hope you somewhat enjoy (okay cry based on the content I guess). I’m real sorry if it’s bad!!!
“Quiet Me”
Mamoru caught the sounds of clatter and shatter at the apartment door as he inserted his house key into the lock. His dark eyebrow upturned dramatically and a slight gleam of sweat began on his forehead.
Twisting the doorknob, slipping off his black dress shoes, and dropping the briefcase full of his research and patient files to the cold hardwood floors, the young dark-haired doctor steadily examined his still apartment, searching for the golden buns of his bubbly wife in the vast space of their home.
“Usa,” he called out, concern starting to build within his gut as she was no where in the living room lounging around, or even the fully stocked kitchen, munching on a tasty treat like always. “Usa, where are y-”
SMASH
He heard the noises again and with horror realized it was coming from the hallway that housed their nu - second bedroom.
Mamoru broke out into a dead sprint to the vacant room, calling out his wife’s name as his heart constricted with such fear and poison. “Usa!”
The blonde barely even registered her spouse bursting into the darkened room, still raising the large hammer high above her head and bringing it down to create yet another blow to the damaged wall, tears streaming down her face.
“Usa put it down! Stop it!”
She heard all his calls and screams and pleads that made his voice sound so raspy at a point but she didn’t obey any said commands, continuing on her path of destruction to rid herself of the last reminder that plagued both of them.
Usagi slammed the hammer into the wall over and over and over again as pieces of the powder blue walls chipped and fell to the carpeted floor soundlessly.
“I need to get rid of it,” she repeated almost like a mantra to keep herself focused. “I need to get rid of it all Mamoru.”
“Stop!” It wasn’t until the tool was ripped from her bare hands that she did indeed stop her assault on the wall but instead of the walls, she turned her rage to the white delicate furniture, pushing objects to the floor as they shattered in pieces, resembling her cracked heart.
“Usagi-”
“Everything needs to go!” Little trinkets fell in heaps along with thin colorful books.
“We promised to do this together Usa!”
Music boxes fell open and the lullaby tunes were echoed in between the screaming match between the two. “I can’t stand to look at it anymore-”
“Why didn’t you just wait for me! It’s been months so why didn’t you tell me-”
“Because it’s too much!” Fingernails tore into pieces of striped fabric that displayed tiny stiches of animals and sports.
“Usagi stop it-”
“I can’t do it anymore!” The dusty rocking chair was flipped over in rage, denting the wooden floor underneath the rug.
“Please just listen to me!”
Small socks and hats and a baby blue blanket were thrown in disarray, never to be used. “It was all my fault, all my fault!”
She shouldn’t have gotten her hopes up so much, she shouldn’t have dreamed so much, loved him so much. “It’s a-all my f-fault,” the tears stung her face and her throat was raw and red and she was so so exhausted.
“Usagi!” Finally, Mamoru trapped her in his strong arms and both their legs gave away as they collapsed on the floor together, the pale blonde hiding in the crook of his shoulder as she trembled with sobs that rocked her body.
He held onto her tightly as she whispered endless apologizes and past thoughts that made his entire being rigid with fear. “It’s okay Usa,” he would sooth, stroking her hair and placing kisses on her forehead or temple, listening on as she quietly rambled on and on.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry….It’s my fault………..We should have known….Pluto said that time is always changing so I hoped……I’m sorry, I should have been more careful…..how stupid was I……I love Chibiusa but I wanted her to have a-a……
Slowly and softly, her whimpers quieted as he shushed into her ear while rocking back and forth gently.
“I’m sorry,” Usagi whispered once more through voice cracks, “I wanted to give you a son.”
He tensed. “I know.”
“He would have been so beautiful. With y-your dark hair a-and m-maybe my e-eyes..”
“I know.”
“I thought m-maybe fate was being g-good to us after all we had done and-”
“I know.”
“We would have h-had a family.”
“I know.”
“B-but how does a h-heartbeat just d-disappear?”
“I don’t know.”
She paused longer and for a second he thought she had fell asleep but: “He would have b-been five months old t-today.”
Mamoru made no move to wipe at the large droplets of moisture that had fallen down the length of his cheeks. “I know,” he spoke, voice hitched and broken.
At last, silence fell on both adults who mourned for the absence of their lost love, the bond of love that they shared together, gone from Usagi’s womb. They mourned for the parenthood that was stolen from them. They mourned as pieces of the blue walls surrounded their sitting forms and soft notes of a lullaby haunted their ears, lullabies that were never to be sung to their unborn child.
Instead, the music was sung to the quietness that encircled the pair of grieving parents.
value me or quiet me for a character of your choice!
Leave a “Quiet Me” in my ask, and I’ll write a drabble about one character trying to calm another down [be it from crying, from lashing out, feel free to specify.]
Alright, I’ll do this one first but I’ll probably do the other too.
“Come on, guy. Try to calm down.”
Dimitri’s hands were glowing so blue, so bright, the whole fucking cell was like a neon sign.
“Fuck you, demon. I don’t even know you! What the hell is this place?! What is happening?!”
His vision was clouding over with black and he could smell the humans and demons in the spaces around him. Black chunks…I’m going to be surrounded by black chunks.
“No, you don’t. But I promise you, if you don’t calm down, they’re gonna be pissed.”
“Who’s they?! I’ve been here for all of five minutes and you’re telling me to calm down! What the fuck! Why am I here?! What are you?!”
The demon in the cell next to him was bright fucking red and dressed as he now was, with only a thin wife-beater and a pair of sweats to protect them from the chill of the concrete walls.
“I’m Red. Please, try to control your gift. The guards are just going to shock you.”
“I can see you are red and the guards better not come near me.”
The demon scoffed, “No, Red is my name. And they won’t need to come near you. Try to take a breath.”
Dimitri couldn’t think let alone attempt to focus on breathing. Everything was too much, to many sights, sounds, too many questions. And his gift roared in his ears to kill something. Now.
Shuffling cut through the chaos in his head and Dimitri saw two men in black approach his cell.
“Get the fuck away from me!”
Dimitri held up his hands, the blue glow bursting out of his flesh and radiating power.
“Demon, calm down! Ugh,” Red approached the bars, “Look at me. Come on, just do it.”
For whatever reason, Dimitri listened. He looked over at the female demon and met her eyes, they were like flames.
“Good, now just breathe.”
Dimitri focused everything he had on taking slow breaths. It was starting to work, the black over his vision was receding. His hands still wanted to grip tight around a neck and disintegrateit however.
“Stay where you are. I just want to hold something.”
Dimitri’s voice was quite but forceful. Red just stared at him.
He walked to the bars that separated them and gripped them tight. In moments, the metal was red hot and melting under his palms. They were warping, they might even break.
“Oh shit, buddy, I don’t think-”
It was the last thing he heard her say before the guards electrocuted him and Dimitri fell unconscious to the floor.
All I Want to do is write. I want to release some of this insanity on to paper... But I can't. I physically Can't translate thoughts into words. I can in my mind, but they won't carry onto paper. My insanity won't let go of its hold on my mind.
I can't focus on the world when I'm lost in one of my own creation.
I just... I need someone to help me. Help silence my mind.
