16 with Stiles Stilinski!
STILES MY DORKY LOVE, MY AWKWARD HEART. YES.
16.“Oh stop trying to pretend you’re not in love with him. It was kind of entertaining at first, but now it’s just sad.”
Sitting with Lydia Martin and Allison Argent at Beacon Hills High lacrosse practice wasn’t something you’d ever expected to do. Ever. But when Allison had befriended you in one of her classes, you quickly became a triad with her and Lydia, and it was nice to actually have friends, especially ones that hung out with Stiles Stilinski and Scott McCall. Jackson was alright too, but he and Lydia had a weird vibe that you weren’t interested in figuring out.
Besides, you only had eyes for Stiles, have since the first grade when he’d knocked some kid on his butt for calling you weak because you couldn’t throw a baseball very far in gym.
You thought the crush you had would go away in high school, but if anything it had gotten stronger, and being around him often has only helped to push you further into your feelings.
Apparently you’ve been sitting and thinking too long, unconsciously staring at Stiles as he practiced, because Lydia clears her throat, gaining your attention, and gives you a knowingly haughty look. “Oh stop trying to pretend you’re not in love with him. It was kind of entertaining at first, but now it’s just sad. Really, you should say something to him.”
You gape at her, then shake your head quickly, a blush burning across your cheeks. “No, I couldn’t. He barely knows I exist, and that’s only because his best friend is dating miss Allison here.” You shrug, running a hand through your hair and tugging at the ends.
Lydia smirks and points towards the field. “Well, now’s your chance to make him notice you. Practice is over and he’s headed our way.” She gives you a pointed look then climbs off the bleachers, headed towards Jackson.
Looking over, you see that Stiles is indeed heading your way, and before you can do more than give her an alarmed look, Allison is off the bench with an apologetic smile and going over to Scott.
You try to ignore the light-headed feeling his smile gives you and you smile back at him. “Hey Stiles, good practice. You, uh, you did good.” You compliment, and he blushes a bit but grins.
“Yeah, you think so? Coach didn’t let me do much, but I really feel like he’ll let me soon. I might even get first line next year!” Excitement lights up his eyes and your heart aches. You want to hug him, tell him how great that is and how much faith you have in him, but instead you settle for a grin and small clap.
“That’s so great, I’m sure you can do it! Keep practicing hard and eventually your coach will have to notice, right?” You let out a nervous giggle and Stiles cocks his head, confusion rippling across his face as he scrunches his nose.
“Yeah, definitely. But uh, okay so that’s not actually what I came over here for. Uh so Lydia, Allison, and Scott have all been pushing me to ask you on a date and saying you like me and well I kinda like you so I’m hoping you like me and there’s just this chemistry between us I feel like, and I dunno if you feel it too but-” You cut off his rambling by putting a hand up and it takes him a few minutes to shut up, but he quiets abruptly, eyes wide as he stares at you expectantly, fidgeting nervously.
“Yes Stiles, I like you, and I’d love to go on a date with you. After I murder those three for spilling my secret.” You smile shyly at him and he grins back, grabbing your hands and pulling you up into a standing position.
Because of the bleachers, you’re a little taller than him, but that doesn’t deter him as he stands on his tip-toes and puckers his lips a little, asking for a kiss. You giggle and lean down, giving him a small peck, and then jerking your head up and glaring when hoots and cheers are heard from across the field, where Lydia, Jackson, Allison, and Scott are all standing.
Stiles grins up at you then turns around and punches the air in victory. “SHE LIKES ME TOO!” He yells, and everyone dissolves into laughter, even yourself.
Dating Stiles Stilinski will be quite the adventure.
