nightmare, wound for OC asks?
Nightmare:
In the aftermath of the destruction of his city, Quin experienced a lot of nightmares. He would often be stuck in the cathedral where he weathered the siege, hearing the sounds of undead trying to beat down doors, the fearful screams of other civilians, the pit of dread in his stomach. Other times he'd have nightmares about Laevinas (who belongs to feyshine but I dont wanna tag them again lol) blaming him for failing to save him, telling him how he always thought Quin was a disgusting half-breed and never cared for him and how Quin betrayed him so deeply.
After he committed magical brain surgery, he doesn't really get proper nightmares as much, but he dreams a lot about a missing face. Sometimes he catches a voice, sometimes a glimpse of someone, but never anything solid enough to remember, it's always gone in the morning.
wound:
Quin is actually kinda clumsy, especially in the kitchen. Luckily his magic is all healing based, so he's able to heal his minor cuts and burns from cooking without any sort of problem. Most of his "wounds" were/are emotional ones. He fixed most of them by aforementioned magical brain surgery, but overall the loss of his family and home still sits pretty heavy with him as of the current story stuff, he gets ready to go to war to fight the undead who killed everyone he knew despite having Zero Combat Training. Great move Quin!
Break for quin :>
Prior to the siege of Silvermoon City, the worst Quin dealt with was usually petty things by comparison--as a half-elf noble, he was uniquely scorned and also sought out. It wasn't unusual for someone to cozy up to him and try to be friends to earn favor from his family, who served as adviser to the King. When they inevitably betrayed him, he was always pretty torn up over it. Laevinas (belonging to @feyshine) was probably the only one during this period that ever really saw Quin get upset over his poor treatment at the hands of the other nobles of Silvermoon.
After the siege and everyone he loved died, he hit rock bottom in his life. He had no friends, no family, a ruined estate to live in, and little chance of finding support from other survivors. No one was alive to see him at his absolute worst, when he experienced suicidal ideation--luckily or unluckily depending on your view point, he chose to commit Basically Magical Brain Surgery on himself and while that backfired Horribly, he was at least able to pull himself out of his pit of grief and misery. Since then, he's never gotten as low as he had been, although he still occasionally struggled with grief for his lost home and family.
let's do the hermit for the major arcana ask meme! tell me more about what's going on inside my good boy's precious head.
[CHEWS VIOLENTLY ON QUIN. AND YOU.]
[THE HERMIT] - What does their inner voice sound like? Is it self-reflecting and introspective, or domineering and judgmental?
It varies some depending on where in the timeline he is? Post fall of Silvermoon, he was monstrous to himself--absolutely riddled with guilt, his inner dialogue was pretty vicious and he flayed himself alive over the regrets he carried such as living so diligently under his mother's thumb and for what, for failing to choose Laev, for failing to tell him his feelings before it was too late.
In his default state when he's not knifing himself in his own heart repeatedly on endless loop (pre-fall of Silvermoon, post memory erasure, etc.), he tends to lean more calm and practical and much, much kinder to himself. A very level-headed sort of internal dialogue, much less prone to harsh self-judgement, sort of observational? Not typically the type of person with an anxious or doubtful inner voice either (although there have been exceptions to this!), as he tends to view himself as pretty reasonably competent and feels he can tackle most problems that heads his way.
the moon for quin ;P
THANK YOU FOR THE ASK YOU HAVE MADE MY WHOLE DAY. I HAVE BRAIN BEES ABOUT THIS BOY AND FEEL ENDLESS JOY FOR ANY OPPORTUNITY TO TALK ABOUT HIM.
[THE MOON] - If they had to choose one trait to describe themselves, what would it be? Is it a genuine answer, or the illusion/persona they put on for others?
Most likely Quin would choose his helpful nature--at his core, he's the type of person who would go out of his way to help others, and he makes a living off of it, helping people through various trauma in their lives and giving them the ability to cope with it.
He is genuine about his helpful nature, to the point where he has and will continue to put others before himself every single time. (Except for the one rare instance where he doesn't, because he has one glaring weak spot and it's his husband Laevinas, owned by @feyshine.)
