It happened too fast– one moment they were moving quickly and quietly, trying to pass by unnoticed, then all of the suddenly Kenny was grabbed and his hand slid from Kyle’s grip.
“Kenny-!” He cried out, trying to grab him back. “No! Let go of him!” It didn’t matter what was happening, who pulled Kenny from him- Kyle was going to fight for him.

It was late. Kyle was tired, and when his phone buzzed, without looking at it, he had half a mind not to answer. He was in the middle of something-- oh. It was a phone call. There was groan in response, he pulled off his glasses and rubbed his eyes before snatching his phone and hitting ‘accept’ still without sparing a glance at the ID.
“Hello?” He didn’t mean to sound exasperated.
“Mr. Kyle Broflovski?”
“That’s me.”
“This is Detective Smalls with the Police Department.” Oh. Kyle’s stomach dropped. What had happened? Who was in trouble? He felt
“What can I do for you, detective?”
“We have a Kenneth McCormick here, and he wanted to use his one call to speak with you. Hold on.” The detective passed the call to Kenny, and Kyle couldn’t believe it, honestly. Why the fuck was Kenny calling him from the police department? One phone call meant he was there after having been arrested-
