thank you to my most beloved @chuuminn for inviting us to a folklore-filled new year’s :3 i love you so much and i hope you and chuuya have had a wonderful beginning to 2025 <3

OUTFITS INSPIRED BY: FAE

there are stories told of mythical creatures, ones who dance freely upon the grass and sparkle under the moon. they tread lightly through the earth, leaving flowers and glimmering mystery in their wake. but be careful, dear one, lest you venture into a faerie circle, guided by the sound of golden harps, for you may never return.

there are rules fae must abide by: be truthful, yet cunning; be gracious, yet never boastful; be beautiful, but not opulent. they are quick with their thoughts and honest with their words - it is a crime to lie to a fae, after all. however, do not take their veracity for loyalty - a fae can and will manipulate language to their advantage, while ensuring they never break the vow of an oath.

ajax and i fit these ideals well - we are both driven by honor and keeping our promises. there’s a whimsy to it, of course, and a mischief lining the glamour. there’s no need for gaudy gems or shows of riches; rather, it comes in the wealth of our power, our control.

within our outfits, i wanted to show this with greens and more muted, natural tones. of course fae would use metals and golds to highlight status, but only when interfacing with humans or because they find themselves enthralled by the way they mirror the sun. it’s not lavish or particularly ‘refined,’ but very purposeful. we belong to the earth that bore us, its plants and moss and forests, one that we play with and ones that we revere.

it’s not a crime to admire fae, but be careful, dear one, unless you desire to follow this path. it’s nice here, of course - won’t you join us for a dance?
