Whose hands were those we saw at the end of Before Ever After looking at the black rocks? I’ve heard it was Quirin but am not sure.
It was Quirin. Us seeing the mark on his hand in “Queen For a Day” was a huge reveal.

If Quirin ended up getting freed in 'Secret of the Sundrop', how do you think he'd react to the royal family kidnapped at his house, Varian being evil, the house being under siege, and everything else that was going on?
My knee jerk reaction was to say that he’d say, “Not again, Varian...” but that’s just me joking. XD
First of all, I maintain that Varian was never evil. He was... waaaaay off the deep end, and definitely overreacting, in my book. He was acting out of desperation and had lost the thread on what he was trying to do. “I’ll make them hear me,” he sang, but when they could hear him, he went for revenge.
I dunno, Quirin might very well have pulled out some of his knight moves and helped to free the royal family and then verbally torn into Varian for doing something so dangerous and illegal. I mean, he’d have been confused, if nothing else. There was just so much going on in that moment, you know? He’d have reacted to the immediate and worked his way up to the bigger stuff.
Have you ever thinking if varian finds a date for his dad?
Varian seems a little too preoccupied with his alchemy and science to worry much about trying to force Quirin into dating someone. I get the impression that he kind of likes it being just him and his dad, and Quirin’s attention not being taken by someone else.
I’m just using this to rant cause WOW THAT EPISODE IS GOOD AND IT TIED UP PRETTY MUCH ALL OF THE LOOSE ENDS!!!! (Well I mean...except for the note...) but besides that. It was so well done and I loved seeing a bit into ZT’s backstory. The joke about Varian’s hair was so mean 😂😂😂 I was prayingg for Moon Varian but it was just not to be. It was so good just wow 😍
Haha, I have never for a moment thought Moon Varian was going to be canon, so of course I laughed really hard at the hair snake. XD
Honestly, with the note, it was never supposed to appear to have that much written on it, but props didn’t get the memo in time, and I don’t know if they were told not to change it for visual consistency, or if they just didn’t bother. But as disappointed as people were, it literally was never going to say more than that he was proud of him.
I was overall pretty pleased with the finale. It left me with good feelings.
I have ZERO interaction with other tts fans so I don't know if it's already pointed out, but we all know Quirin wrote a letter to Varian before getting encased. It always bothered me how when he was being encased he was clutching the letter with his hand, like so hard, but then later when Varian comes back or when Quirin is freed the paper is open. It could be an animation error but what if someone DID read the letter? Time travel? Magical hourglass? Anyone?
No, it was just a change in how they chose to animate it.
