Quirrel is the type of guy to wear a loose-fitting argyle vest. He’s the type of guy to roll up his sleeves and pant cuffs. He’s the type of guy to wear socks with sandals (but in the european dad way, not the “overworked college student running to walmart at 11pm because they ran out of groceries” way)

It’s called fashion

And probably Quirrel indeed was the college student who forgot to get groceries at 11 pm after studying all day at the archives
