I had an idea for a comic a while back (yeah when I was still doing comics) that was going to be about people complaining about using peoples' correct pronouns, and to satirize it by showing someone who has a long and/or unique pretty name, and someone else just calling them Jane because it's easier. 

But that's actually happening now. It's not even satire anymore.

I appreciate that people want to promote the correct pronunciation of African names, but I would also like to remind everyone that not everyone is good at learning to pronounce things and it has nothing to do with racism: I can pronounce and spell Quvenzhane better than Tchaikovsky.

If you're going to talk about Quvenzhane, you should know her name (it's disrespectful to only call her Annie), but please let people learn things at their own pace, as long as they're not being lazy and disrespectful.
