Not as innocent as he seems...

We have the bad fortune to be the only band members who play the same instrument and we are also the two most egotistic, or let's say those who always want to be up front and want to show off, and us of all people have to share. Flake, who can play what he wants, or Olli or Schneider, wouldn't have such problems with sharing...ah well Schneider might if there was a second drummer who said: 'You know, I would like to play that part.' In any case we always have to coordinate, or when we do an effect live we have to keep the symmetry so both have to do it.

Interviewer: And how did they do the woman's head on the inside of the cover?
Paul Landers: It was cut off and put on the table
Interviewer: I thought there was a hole in the table and she was sitting underneath?
Paul Landers: By God no, we wouldn't cut a hole in the table
We enjoy being far away to be able to concentrate fully on the music [when recording], because it is annoying when you are in the studio yelling 'FLEISCH, FLEISCH' and suddenly your phone rings and it's your dentist on the line

Interviewer: You don't read any 'Specs' yourselves? Or music magazines in general?
Paul: Sometimes I covertly get a magazine when one of us has given an interview to read on the plane and I often enjoy it. But, other than that...I don't know. I have never read Specs. I like reading mean articles about us, when someone really tries to spread the hate...that I like!
Interviewer: That doesn't bother you?
Paul: No
Interviewer: Does it give you the feeling that you have accomplished what you sought?
Paul: No, but it's kind of cute how agitated they get...makes me laugh.
Some IT-geek from the US broke into my PC and stole everything on it! I was so naive that I didn't even have a firewall or anything. I didn't dream that one could simply sneak into my computer without me noticing. It was kind of creepy becuase that guy also stole all my private data, pictures, and all. And he obviously found it amusing to put it all online. We talked about this with the band and agreed that that sort of thing is mean! Nobody found this remotely funny. And it doesn't have much to do with money, but rather that we spend 3 years working and then someone just stole half done songs...
