where: Rabastan's townhouse
who: @r-lestrcnge
They all knew, even if they couldn't do something about it because there were no actual proofs, Marlene and the rest of the Order knew who stood with the dark wizard threatening the world as it was. The Lestranges were clearly among those, even if they disguised it well to keep the Ministry from prying on their daily activities. As part of the Ministry, the blonde couldn't blatantly ignore such matters even if ordered to, she wanted to do something about it. When Rosmerta had mentioned one of the Lestrange brothers as a frequent member of the suspsicious group gathering at the Three Broomsticks, the witch hadn't even thought about it twice before apparating at the entrance of the wizard's townhouse.
She had been greeted by a house elf after a few knocks, the first sign that she was in the right place, anger building inside her at the thought of these wizards having the chance to roam around the Wizarding World freely, their beliefs in pureblood supremacy spreaded without anyone's concern. An exasperated sigh escaped her lips as the door was shut close on her face, the elf denying her entrance but agreeing to fetch the wizard she was looking for. Someone else might have left, given up, but not Marlene. Conflicted as he might be, the witch knew how to hold her ground and how to handle herself around those who followed Voldermort, after all she'd grown up in that very same society.
Several minutes passed before the door finally opened, allowing a handsome young wizard through it. It wasn't their first time meeting, the twisted light that shone in his eyes one that the witch wouldn't easily forget. "I certainly hope you were occupied and this is not the way you usually treat Ministry workers." The blonde allowed, her green eyes holding his gaze. She wouldn't leave without getting something from him, a word of confession at the very least.
