Rant-astic!
Ok! So I created this blog so I could post and re-blog all the pretty things I fancied. But the time has come to let the ugly come forth. My housemates are lazy, disgusting rats! Perhaps that is why they feel comfortable having pet rats? Not that I have anything against pet rats....although I kind of do. I had one once, when I was a wee lass. I trusted it and it bit my finger. But that's not really the point.
Tonight I headed down stairs to cook my dinner-for-one like usual. BTW Do you know how depressing it is to be always cooking a meal for one? And I'm someone who loves left-overs! (In food form only of course). Needless to say, I was already not in the best frame of mind. So, I enter the kitchen to find grotty dishes everywhere, literally everywhere. And I know this is common-place when you have housemates but this is getting beyond what I should have to put up with. I just don't understand how their conscious can let them laze around all day and night instead of prompting them to clean up their filth.
I should just talk to them right? Tell them that it's not acceptable and they need to clean up their act. Literally. Well, I would but I am too high up on my high-horse to get down. I shouldn't have to tell them! Plus, despite being a member of a multitude of social media networks...I have discovered I am depressingly anti-social and quite awkward in many social situations. Thus, why I have chosen to rant about it on Tumblr rather than to the culprits.
Besides, I have talked to them before. They always come up with some excuse. "I've been so busy with auditions and character development...", "Yeah, sorry dude, I forgot." Like, seriously? For real? I'm working more than all of your lazy arses combined and I still manage to clean up after myself.
The thing that bugs me the most about all of it is that the utensils etc that I have contributed to the household are the ones that are ALWAYS dirty. There is absolutely no respect or consideration for my things. For example, I have a grater that is so old it should be in the Antique's Roadshow. Not kidding. But rather than using their sparkly modern age one they choose to always use my 'should-probably-be-an-heirloom' grater. It is an awesome grater though and I wouldn't swap it for any other. Perhaps that is why they always use it. But peeps, don't use and abuse! Don't let the cheese sit on it for a week until it is no longer recognizable. Have some respect for your elders.
So my solution? I have began squirreling away my cooking utensils. Not all at once of course. No, that would be too obvious. Just one little piece at a time. My latest item I chose for safe keeping: my baking tray. Next on my radar: my wooden spoon. Rant over.
For now...
