[Asbel] Throws water on the shepherd.
my muse is sleeping. wake them up however you’d like! { accepting }
cozied up on his little expanse of the ground, soft snores weave their way into the cool air of early morning. the bend of his arm formed his pillow, the other arm draped over his side & his hand hanging loosely. not only was he deeply involved within sleep, but he was tangled within dreams that allowed him to travel to far-off destinations which stemmed from his ruin addled mind. this one in particular was floating, channels of water running intricately all throughout. the next step he takes causes the floor tile to shift, the entire platform lurching which threatens to put him off balance and right into the water – ! but it’s the feeling of falling that sends him splashing right back into reality. water, meet face. face – water.
“no, wa – agh - !” a jolt & he’s sitting upright! .. . feeling wet? wait a minute.
so maybe it wasn’t the falling, but the water? real, actual water. or both. that was sound reasoning. the question now is – “what was that for?” picking at the wet collar of his shirt, the other hand drags down his face to get rid of some of the water or sleep that clings to him. “i wasn’t sleeping that hard, was i?” it’s all catching up to him now, but it’s not easy to just relinquish the excitement he’d felt moments before.
man what he wouldn’t give to go back, he was so close – ! “there was this long passageway filled with water & impressive traps.” leave it to him to be impressed by traps. “ancient writing was embellished all over the walls. i couldn’t read it, but – i was so close to finding it - !” finding what, one may ask. extravagant treasure. a long, lost relic or article of history. some magical power granting the wielder strength or wisdom.
nope, none of those things. he’s definitely not disappointed that the golden snail may not actually exist now that he knows it was a dream. he certainly isn’t more disappointed in that as opposed to be woken up with water.
