An almost well framed shot, were it not for the fence and level crossing signage.
R707 leads the train eastwards towards Sale, Victoria after taking on water in Traralgon after it’s over 160km journey from Melbourne, with another 46km to go before Sale. Triple heading with heritage diesel units T413 “Steve Gibson”, and H5 formerly owned by Pacific National and Freight Australia before it, the train is on a day excursion to the town of Sale. R707 is the first R class to visit Sale since the 1960s, and the first to travel over the SkyRail on it’s way. With the only turntable on the line being just behind it here in Traralgon, the R will lead tender first on it’s way back from Sale to Traralgon, where it will be detached and turned for the remaining 160km of it’s return journey to Melbourne.
