btw! i’ll explain basing on the page i used to get the domain? saying just in case🤷♀️ bc maybe instead of 3 dns entries you only get 2? i have no idea tbh!
ok let’s go:
you have to purchase the domain first (just google “custom domain”, there are a lot of pages!) if you are from spain guys, i’m using this one! also it’s cheap, at least this one lol
now that you got it, you must change the dns entries. you get 3 different entries named: ‘cname’, ‘a’ & ‘a’. you have to change the “a” value to 66.6.44.4 so you get something like this (X)
now open tumblr and go to account > edit appearance
click on your username and enable “use custom domain” (X)
now put your domain and click “test domain”
you’ll get this now just save and enjoy!
if you have any doubts just message me! also if you have a problem, please send an image of the settings, it would be easier for me to help 💖
How to make character graphics like these - requested by anonymous
difficulty level: easy
version of ps used: cs6
if you don't understand anything, let me know and i'll try my best to explain it to you.
note: others may have a different way of doing it, but this is the way i do it.
We'll deal with the gif part of the graphic first. Go to File > New and set the dimensions to 245x245. Make sure the background contents is set to transparent. Click OK.
You should now have a blank canvas that looks like this.
Now, you need to make two GIFs, both 245x120. In case you don't know how to do this, I'll explain how briefly. Go to File > Import > Video Frames to Layers. Double click on the video you want to use and a box should pop up. Click on Selected Range Only and use the two little black things at the bottom to choose which portion of the video you're going to GIF. Press OK.
If you don't already have the timeline window open, go to Window > Timeline or Animation, whichever your version has. Your screen should look something like this, with the video you chose, obviously.
Delete all of the frames you will not be using. I'm going to be making each of my GIFs have 30 frames, so I'll need 60 frames total. It's up to you how many you want to use. Once you've done this, crop your frames. To get the right dimensions, click on the crop icon and in the two little black boxes toward the top, enter 245 and 120. It should look like this.
Drag the corners of the box until you're satisfied and press enter. It will more than likely still be larger than you need, so go to Image > Image Size. Make sure you have Constrain Proportions checked and put 245 in the box for the width. The height should automatically change to 120. Press OK. Now, choose which frames you want to make up your first GIF. In the timeline at the bottom of your screen, click on the first frame and then press shift as you click on the last frame. All of the frames for the first GIF should now be selected.
Click on this little button and select Copy Frames. Go back to the blank canvas you created at the beginning and click on the same button, but this time, select Paste Frames. A box should pop up. Select Paste Over Selection and click OK.
Your screen should now look something like this.
Now, go back to the window with the frames for your second GIF. Do exactly what you did before. Select the same amount of frames as the first one and copy and paste the frames onto your canvas. Those frames will now be on top of the other ones. To move them, select the appropriate layers by clicking on the first layer of the 2nd GIF and pressing shift while clicking on the last one.
Next, click on the move tool and drag the layers until they look like this.
Now, click on this little button again and select Flatten Frames Into Layers. Your layers window should now look like this.
I prefer to delete the other layers (the ones that start with Layer), but it's not necessary. Now, we sharpen the frames. I do not have the Convert to Video Timeline button, so I use this action. That link explains how to use it, so I'll skip that part. Now that all of your frames are sharpened, it's time to add coloring. I'm using my own PSD, but just use one that looks good for the video you're using. My screen now looks like this.
You may notice that's there's now a tint to the transparent background. That's the coloring. To get rid of it, select your coloring in the layers window and click on Add Layer Mask down at the bottom . Next, click on the Rectangular Marquee Tool and select the space you want to be transparent.
Press backspace and the coloring should go away from that area. To complete this part of the graphic, add a gradient map and change the timing. I went with 0.7 seconds, but it depends on how fast or slow you want it to be. Go to File > Save for Web and make sure your settings look like this.
Then click save, name your GIF and click save again. Here is what my finished product looks like. Now, onto the photo part, which is much easier. Open up the photo you'll be using. I'm using this one. Click on the crop button and choose 1x1 (Square) at the top.
Select the part you want to be cropped and press enter. Go to Image > Image Size and put in 245x245. Next, add your coloring and the same gradient map you used for your GIF. My screen looks like this now.
The final step is adding the text. Click on the text tool and choose the font you want to use for the first name. I'm using Badcab. Type the first name of the character and resize to your liking. Make the font color one of the colors in your gradient map. Next, add a stroke to the text by double clicking on the text layer and clicking on Stroke. The color of the stroke should be the second color in your gradient map. I chose a size of 2px, but it's up to you and which you think looks best. Now add a drop shadow. Here are my settings.
Click on OK. Now right click on the text layer and select Duplicate Layer and when the box pops up, click OK. I find this to be the easiest way to make both texts have the same settings. Move the 2nd text layer to your liking and, if you want to change the font, highlight it and choose a second one. The one I'm using is Violation. Change the text to the last name and press enter. You're all done! Now just go to File > Save As and choose either .jpg or .png. Name the file and click save and if a box pops up, make sure the quality is at 11 or 12. My finished picture looks like this.
Yay, all done! I hope this tutorial helped you and don't hesitate to ask any questions that you have. You can see my finished graphic here.
