Things I’ve discovered on just page one of the book I’m reading about Salvador Dalí:
He once went walking in the streets of New York at Christmas, ringing a bell every time he felt someone wasn’t paying enough attention to him
When he was six, he wanted to be a female chef (Dalí specified the gender — queer icon on our hands?)
When he was seven, he wanted to be Napoleon
Might have been in a gay situationship with his friend García Lorca? (Almost definitely gay on Lorca’s end, unsure about Dalí himself)
Notably said, “the differences between the Surrealists and me is that I am a Surrealist.”
