"Capitalism breeds innovation"
Oh yeah? Rabb.it was an excellent site which allowed you to watch things with your friends for no money and no restrictions, back in 2015-2017 or even earlier. It went away not because there was something wrong with it, but because investors pulled out. The replacement, Kast, is not nearly as good (and it also forces you to make an account)
All of the options that I have tried either force you to make an account (and then try to make you buy their premium version), or they only work on streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, HBO (or only goddamn youtube) or they force you to use an extension which barely works or they have some other issue. Discord and Skype can work for this, but they can still have issues with sound or video, not mentioning that only one person controls the room.
We are in goddamn pandemic world and we still don't have a good option for watching a movie (not from a streaming site) with your long distance friends.
But yes, sure, capitalism breeds innovation.
