This is true! Plus Cole says that Vivienne cares about him even if she tries not to. I don't like when people paint her as heartless. She's merely protective over herself after seeing and experiencing a lot of bad shit on her way up in life.

Exactly~ Like her voice cracks when she learns about Tranquil being killed and she clearly has feelings. All it takes is giving her character some real chances instead of the shallow “She has ambition,does what everyone else does to survive and won’t tell me her personal emotions upfront > SHE’S THE MOST HEARTLESS LIAR THERE IS & WANTS ALL MAGES TO DIE >:(” analysis she often gets. If Cole can like & want to help Vivienne and outright state part of her truly does care for him then others in this fandom certainly can.
