okay i was talking with one of my IRLs about tadc 8. and the topic of jax and kingers relationship came up and it just hit me how good foils they are. theyre shockingly similar. ultimately, left to their own devices they start breaking down. two good examples are the bubble scene at the start of this episode, and, well all over the place for jax but specifically the bedroom scene as well as the climax in ep7. obviously theyre quite different in the way they go about it: caine having his intrusive/subconscious thoughts about himself externalized through bubble; and jax just kinda starts circling about these thoughts of his dead friends and the outside world just. idk how to articulate it specifically. just trust me bro. if you get me you get me.
also the way theyre supressing their emotions and being dissmissive of the rest of the cast.. then start taking out their repressed emotions onto that dismissed cast. are you following?
also the key retrieval scene from last episode. that's all for that.
also more on that actually. notice how his excuse to get out was to distract caine some more. i don't know. is this anything?
also i feel like they both have guilt around the deaths of other humans. idk.
