WHY I FEEL RACE CHANGING SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM (as a black girl)
ok so boom, no one rlly asked for this and it's a very played out topic, but I wanna add to the topic while taking in both opinions and listening to them. i'll be using references and you don't have to agree i js want to find a understanding with both beliefs. it might be a little bias so pls check me if needed
I got the idea to make this post from this statement. In one paragraph the author(who i read a lot and they have very shifting advice) stated that we all have a frame of reference, and that we brought this version of us "the raised in a world where race impacts safety, freedom, and dignity. so when you choose to “change races”, what you’re really doing is sidestepping the pain of our lived experiences while cherry-picking our features for your fantasy."
This blogger claims it's disrespectful, "Experiencing racial identity through shifting lacks the permanence and systemic context that characterize real-life racial experiences. Even if you shift to a new race, you will never inherit the deep-rooted understanding of what it means to be that race."
What I'm getting from this belief is that changing your reality doesn't mean you instantly connect with the race that you became. And the pocs have a problem with the exploitation and fetishization they keep getting from other races or nonpocs.
This blogger hates when ppl tell others how to life their dr. "people need to understand not everyone has the same beliefs and generalising a group of people or thinking a certain person is evil or weird or something is fully on you, not them."
in this blog the shifter doesn't care about what ppl do in their drs "Unless it doesn’t inherently have to do with murder, pedophilia, cheating on their s/o’s, backstabbing friends, committing crimes, being overall horrible people in their drs."
Honestly I could care less abt something so small abt race changing in your dr. And saying that the race or identity you have in this reality should dictate which other realties we go to goes against the structure of shifting. Most shifters shift to escape this reality and/or to experience new things such as food, cultures, etc. And I'm not saying the pocs who disagreed should be dismissed or ignored bc their opinions are valid but don't rlly matter bc what can you do when it's someone's own choice in a completely different.
I also saw a comment say something about how when you race change your using their culture as a costume. Again this goes against shifting bc they are embodying the identity that they already are, that's like saying a body claim is a costume that you're wearing. Ppl who have these mindsets are limiting shifting and don't fully understand the concept of it.
(also i think this world made us care so much abt race that ppl think it's ok to try and limit other ppl's experience in other realities)
Reality shifting is shifting your soul and consciousness to another reality and ppl argue using the body you were born but your body doesn't shift.
