I know finding reasons not to like things are easy to come by. With this program I’m doing, I was hesitant. Why? Because throughout her website and booklet there are comments that I wouldn’t consider body positive. Yet I understand that for marketing that is probably the best way to go so I took it with a grain of salt. Comments like “don’t do these leg exercises if you want thin legs” and “get slender not bulky”. These bother me because I have spent so damn long developing a healthier relationship with my body, a relationship I never thought I’d have. It’s not perfect, but I’m not ever going back to how I was. It’s even why I’m careful on here. I don’t want to repeatedly scroll through women with fit and thin bodies and get back into that comparison mindset. The odd one fine but I used to scroll endlessly through that stuff and just hate myself.
What’s amazing about this program? First, she straight up says that there are no cheat days and that any time you want/crave something really bad to just have a bit of it because she doesn’t want people to develop unhealthy eating habits. The whole meal plan (which is structured around finding macros for your own body type instead of a generic one size fits all method) is designed to teach you what healthy eating looks like. Thankfully it’s dairy and gluten free since I have so many food allergens, but she even comments about that.
Secondly, the food is amazing. I don’t remember the last time I had food that garaged this good that is good for me. My gate USA are blown away.
Third, I have always been into extreme fitness. I’m an overachiever and I love pushing my body to see just how far I can take it. This mentality however has lead to me having hypothyroidism and a sever case of adrenal fatigue. I was not to workout the last year, but I hate not exercising. This workout plan is low impact (absolutely no HIIT for endomorphs) and the only cardio is kept to 20-30 min max at a lower percentage of max bpm. So I can finally workout again without ruining the work I’ve done over the past year.
Overall, I’m really enjoying it. I’m never hungry. And the food is so good that when I want to be ridiculous and have chocolate (fuck you period cravings) that I haven’t yet had any. If I want to I will, but I don’t feel the sense that I “need” it yet. So I’ll practice some self control as that is a muscle I haven’t used in a long time lol.
