Release of the Day: THE RAGING NATHANS - “Bring Me The Head of Betsy Devos” (Rad Girlfriend) There’s no band I’ve listened to this year more than The Raging Nathans, not just because their last two full-lengths, “Waste My Heart” and “Oppositional Defiance” have been excellent, but also because the band has been on a tear in dropping a new song every couple of weeks for a little while. “No Goodbye” and “Psychophant” are a solid seven-minute pair of melodic punk bliss, with “No Goodbye” bringing shout along heat and needling guitars. “Psychophant” runs a tick darker, less layered but with an angrier streak, which is pretty much the trait that has drawn me so into this band. Unyieldingly catchy but sober around the fault lines around us.
