Direct To You Scholarship: What Is In Must Go Out . . . and Then In Again
From the start of this generation, technology has been the source of all interactions. Technology is what people of all ages strive off for direction, interaction, information, response, due dates, and social networking. The use of the internet and smart phones has been the only dominate source of interaction, lately. With the use of social networks primarily: Instagram, Twitter, TUMBLR, Pintrest, and Facebook there is a drive that young adults can not detach from. I for one was a victim of this, and I for one can shine some light on the nicotine of technology today. What draws young adults (or anyone) to various types of technology is its speed, entertainment, and quality.
For many adults who are still stuck in the "stone age," there may be some confusion on what your child wants or in various words "needs". Well, for you parents or anyone for that matter, we need something that will help use think less and view more. The latest technology provides knowledge and a source of power. When I was "absolutely obsessed" [according to my sister] with social networks such as Twitter, Tumblr, and YouTube I new what I wanted to see and I also knew what I want to type/tweet or blog/re-blog etc. When it came to YouTube I knew what caught my interest and what didn't catch my interest. For example, I am interested in funny vloggers [video bloggers] ( predominantly male) and sometimes I look up piano tutorials so I can learn how to play my favorite songs. When it comes to Twitter and Tumblr, I am interested in things that relate to how I'm feeling at the moment and or what I have experienced or remember from my childhood.
What I have taken away from all this is the knowledge of what young adults are interested in now and how to mold what people are doing now into what already exist, and to be honest what this generation swears is new actually came from generations before their time. I am driven by social media and technology, however I have matured in the process and realized that obsession is like nicotine, once you get started you cant stop. The moral of this blog is to present to you that things that are temporarily the "in thing" always fades out and then more then likely come back with an additional piece. I believe society today relies a lot on technology, and I believe it has become one of our direct necessities we needed in order to go about our day.
Technology will advance more, maybe we'll actually get to idea of flying cars and everything being computer generated, but until that time comes lets just stay technologically inclined and broaden our minds.
