'A Different Kind of Star' Question 6 and 11! <3
6: What makes this fic special or different from all your other fics? This fic was my first time writing Fem!Akira, and it made me sooo happy. I loved imagining her adult wardrobe and getting to write her giving Iwai constant strokes. I love Iwaipego as it is, but I'm also extremely gay for Fem!Akira, so getting to indulge in her for this fic was very much my jam. 11: What do you like best about this fic? I really liked writing from Iwai's POV a lot. I think he has one of my favorite character voices, and I like getting to relish in him being a tired dad dealing with Akira tasking him so much.
Ask meme!! Question 4, your favorite bit of dialogue, for 'A Jailbird in the Hand' please! <3
Ooooh this is an interesting one! Thank you for the ask! I think my favorite bit of dialogue is when Yamato says this: “You hear a person in distress. You see her being manhandled. And you walk away? You would never forgive yourself. The alternative is that you would never know a moment’s peace in your life, because you had the opportunity to help someone in need and instead chose to do nothing.” I actually had this whole conversation in my head as I was writing and the rest of the fic was all a lead up to this. This work was essentially a vehicle to explore the parental dynamic between Yamato and Akira, and this exact conversation was Yamato's opportunity to demonstrate how well he understands who Akira is as a person. It was also a nice way to touch on Yamato's character development throughout the events of Devil Survivor 2, because once upon a time, he wouldn't even have been *capable* of understanding the choice to intercede on a stranger's behalf, especially when it lead to such catastrophic consequences. It felt really poignant for him to be the one to remind Akira that he did what he did because he's a good person.
