for the ask game: what is your most favourite character to write about and why?

Oh, that's a good one! I tend to go through phases, but as of right now, I think my favorite character to write about is Akira Kurusu of Persona 5. His dual nature gives me a lot of options when I'm writing, and I like the variety there. He also lends himself well to a lot of different scenarios. Bless the Metaverse for giving me excuses to write AUs of every stripe.

Also he is exquisitely beautiful.

When did you first start writing? And what was the first fandom you ever wrote for?

Oh boy. So technically speaking, the first fanfic I ever wrote was in 5th grade when I wrote self-insert Spyro the Dragon fic for a creative writing class LMAO

The first fic I actually published anywhere was .hack//GU Haseo/Endrance on ff.net when I was a teenager. Oof I'm showing my age

1. All the time LOL. I am definitely my own target audience. I also tend to gravitate towards rare or nonexistent crossover ships so sometimes mine is all I have to read

2. Hmm... this is a tough one. When I reblogged the original list I figured I'd have this one locked and loaded but now I'm struggling haha. I think for me it'd be omegaverse, fake dating, and mundane AU's just for the sheer pervasiveness. If you like those things you're totally valid, they're just not for me

Oh my god, where to even start

I love Akira so much that I own an almost 2 ft tall statue of him that sits in a place of glory in my living room. Appliance installers love him.

I actually almost didn't play Persona 5 at all until I met a friend who was really into it, and I fell head over heels for Akira. He's such a wildly appealing protagonist to me. His design is exquisite, Joker is impeccable, and I love the dual nature to him. I love that his backstory is that he got arrested for intervening in an attempted assault because he's a goddamned good boy.

Even though he got done SO dirty, he never lets it stop him from trying to help other people. He has a tender, bleeding little heart and all the reasons in the world not to indulge it, but he does it anyway. He's my beautiful rebel and I want to kiss his face all over.

I'm also unfathomably gay for rule-63 Akira. Atlus is probably never going to give me a female protagonist again, so I've had to content myself with genderswaps, and I'm absolutely goddamned obsessed with fem Akira (I have a whole Pinterest board of outfits I think she'd wear). I'm so into her I started writing my own cyberpunk otome game with R63 Akira as the protagonist oops

Iwai makes me so happy, I want to just sit in his shop and listen to him tell me gun facts all day long in those dulcet tones. I love his English voice (I especially love that his English VA is the same as Yamato Hotsuin's LMAO), I love his stubble and his earrings and his tattoo.

I want to mash him with my favs from all my other canons and make them bone. Your fics about him totally rewired my brain chemistry and I blame you entirely for giving me a taste for DILFs I never had before.

He's so gruff and tired and paternal and sexy and I love him to itty bitty pieces.

YAAAAA YOU GET ME

I love Yamato Hotsuin so much I chose my username in his honor, so there's that.

I don't think there's any aspect of his character that I don't like. I absolutely love his design. I love his lavender hair and his cockatiel fluff and his Matrix jacket and his military boots and his stupid tie that's like 4 feet long. I love that he looks like a mean, scary badass, but he's actually a weird little drama queen who thinks Hibiki is hilarious and criticizes other people for their lack of social skills.

I love that he's so unapproachable that he has no friends, but it takes him less than 24 hours to be on a first name basis with Hibiki. I love that his attachment to Hibiki is so strong that he only has takoyaki with him one single time before he decides that it's not only his favorite food in the world, it's also the first food he ever taught himself how to make. I love him threatening to slit everyone's throat when he thinks they've poisoned the only friend he's ever had against him.

I love that the Triangulum Arc's Golden End is Yamato's route, and a perfect culmination of the immense character development he goes through over the course of the whole game. I've probably played through Record Breaker a good 8 times, and I never, ever get tired of him. Yamato Hotsuin is my forever girl and I'll wax poetic about him at the drop of the hat. He deserves the world!
