Exacta! It's always super mega bugged me when people use "The Gay community" to refer to lesbians, bisexuals, and trans people, and then forget the qia+ part entirely. 

And people who switch the letters around and then ignore whole letters to suit their egocentricism are gross and dumb. 

honestly this community is ridiculed daily, and members are put in danger daily simply because they are not straight, or cis. to pit us against ourselves like this only gives more reasons for those not apart of the community to think little of us. we should be supportive of everyone within this community instead of worrying about petty details such as the order of some letters. we are not a community because of some letters, those letters exist together because we are a community.

It's like how people say "Its all about gay marriage!" instead of marriage equality. People love to make things about men.

i understand that many people use the word “gay” as an umbrella term for people within the lgbtqa+ community, which, personally, i think shouldn’t be a thing because having separate identifiable identities is really important for some people. but many, if not most, people don’t know that there is a difference between the umbrella term “gay” and what it actually means and should be used for.

but i digress. the name of the community is “lgbtqa+”. its been that for years, decades even. switching the letters around to satisfy petty, misogynistic, egos undermines the integrity of the community as a whole.
