I don't mind you publishing at all! Anyway, my thoughts boil down to three main ideas. The first is that, just like ordinary radioactive crystals, unstable gems will metamictize over time. Thus, unlike ordinary gems, unstable gems are distinctly mortal, sometimes even to level comparable to organic life. Secondly, unstable gems both have a tendency towards frequent destructive or hateful moods, and powers that excel in creating chaos. Finally unstable gems approach fusion with dire caution CONT
CONT They avoid it so strongly because, every time they attempt to fuse, there is a chance, sometimes a virtual guarantee, that instead of properly forming a fusion, they'll essentially undergo a fission chain reaction, and detonate, with energy comparable to the combined mass of the Gems.
This is neat! I could see mortal gems being viewed as even MORE flawed than "defective" ones like Pearl or "weak" ones like Ruby and Sapphire. What if they had a really powerful bond with another gem, but had to refrain from fusing due to these sorts of concerns!! I could also see radioactive gems choosing to sacrifice themselves in a fission/fusion.I'd be interested to see how much of real-life Gem properties the crew takes into account with future characters. This is very insightful. Thanks for sharing!
