"How dare you look down your nose at me like that."
Considering this Mikaele was a rather towering individual, it perhaps wasn’t that difficult for him to look down upon the shorter hunter.

{ JUNO & PETER - @eyenoir } moving forward using all my breath, making love to you was never second best, i saw the world thrashing all around your face, never really knowing it was always mesh and lace, i'll stop the world and melt with you, you've seen the difference and it's getting better all the time, there's nothing you and i won't do -- i'll stop the world and melt with you.
@radioways for marcus cutter cause thats what the d4 gave me
Despite roaming about the confines of the base despite Eiffel’s pleas as not to, & well - perhaps she shouldn’t have been roaming about, considering the person she just ran into. Least, maybe she’ll be lucky - it’s a rather large base, right? She could just - act as though she belongs there. Certainly, that should work! Hopefully
“Hey - which way was the cafeteria again?”
do they even have a cafeteria here?

“ that so? ” a brittle huff of a laugh, silence as he draws in another cloud of smoke and shoots the man in his peripheral a sidelong glance. “ not sure you'd believe it if i told you. ” the book still clutched tightly to his chest, wholly normal though it was, was pressed only further still, though if gerard had any interest to take it by force he had shown no sign of doing so yet.
it was a simple offer, taken or left as it were. still it would be a lie to say mike hadn't wondered. gerard seemed hardly older than himself, if older at all, yet he was hardly without purpose as he sought the same collection of tomes with a fervor that felt strangely kindred despite hardly even knowing his name.
he knew what these leitners were. what they could do. maybe more than that.
“ something's been ... following me. since i was young. ” tormenting was a better term; it deserved no such satisfaction to be said aloud. he bit it back instead with another slow drag, gaze distant. “ it’s tied to me, i think. making me doubt myself. what’s real. these ... these books have a power to them that i know will be the key to getting rid of it. they’ve got to. ” there is a beat of silence, his legs idly swinging a little off the edge of the roof, the nighttime shifting of the city below a plaintive melody. “ i am sorry for the trouble, if it means anything. ” there was a sincerity to it, though small compensation for going out of his way to try to stay a few steps ahead and then some. he would never be that sorry.
“Good morning, Mr. Fairchild.” Agnes gives the older avatar a smile and a dip of her head as he lands on her balcony. There isn’t much of a view, but it is just nice to have the fresh air. It could sometimes get stuffy in the apartment. “I’ve got the kettle on.” She nods, adjusting her glasses, taking in a breath of the cool, just-turned autumn air. “Have you gone anywhere exciting, recently?” She asked, with a bright smile,. She’d never travelled much, regrettably. She hums, moving back inside, not bothering to close the balcony door.
She glides to the stove, turning off the burner as the kettle screamed. She pours two cups, carrying them over on the tray to the table -- heavy metal on the bottom and solid stone of the top. Not the prettiest thing, but effective. Just like everything else in her apartment.

The sudden sting of the alcohol solution has her halting herself mid-sentence, teeth gritting and a muttered curse escaping her. It’s a decent cut in her arm from her recent endeavor; not deep enough for serious damage, but something that would least require some bandages for a while. Certainly, shes dealt with much more severe, as revealed by the blackened tank top she adorns, where aged claw marks across her back side are much more visible compared to usual.

Vespa would like to rip the throat out of the grinning freak’s guard dog. She did not like the institute, and especially not their head. But, she liked his guard dog even less. Still, she holds herself back, even as Buddy can no doubt sense the fact Vespa would like nothing more than to rip the throat out of Daisy as the woman talks down to her wife. Of course, given the fact Buddy is arguably dead and Vespa has not existed in any sort of government database in nearly a quarter century, their marriage was moreso a thing of emotions and words than a legally binding document.
But the fact remained: she did not like the way Buddy was threatened by this failure of a law officer. Even though Buddy herself seemed unmoved by this display. One Daisy had left, before Vespa could go after her with the knife that she desired to plunge into the woman’s retreating back, she feels Buddy pull her into a kiss, she melts, easily distracted from the previous anger. “If she talks to you like that again, I’ll kill her, Buddy.”
