Having an au with my friend where Ardjin is starting to feel regret and remorse for what he's done to Raennyn, and my friend's ratshark (Ardjin's lover in this au) is watching this man struggle to acknowledge Rae as a person, let alone his own son.

It's funny and entertaining writing Ardjin in this light cus the more he sees Raennyn being a person with interests and hobbies, the more he feels like shit. He wants to deny his wrong-doings so badly, but he can't. And thanks to Ardjin's lover trying to get Ardjin to start somewhere with Rae in terms of treating Rae like a living individual rather than a tool, it's throwing my old ratshark into a moral crisis 😂

I'm channeling my inner teenage cringe from 2005 to doodle this sketch, and I'm genuinely having a good time.

This was initially a response doodle to an anon ask a while back that i ended up liking enough to actually work on it now haaa

Hm, maybe I could give Raennyn a tail.

I mean, he was subjected to genetic altering mixed with "Chaotic" (it was really Draconic or perhaps both) Magic. A tail could happen...

Talking about it with my friend and really thinking a regenerative tail might've been a side effect to the experiments done to him, and since it would just get in the way, Ardjin would order Rae's handlers to surgically remove it whenever it grows back every year or so.

An idea or an au to play around with

Raennyn is often mistaken for a femme Asura. It doesn't help that his voice is a husky feminine tone. And it's funny cus he doesn't correct folks who think he's a chick, like at all.

Had a scenario where my friend's lesbian Asura took him out for drinks and asked him if he wanted to go have fun at her place. He goes "I'm gay."

With her responding "Well duh, obviously."

And he goes: "For other men."

She just has that loading circle in her brain for a second before it clicks and she realizes Rae's a dude.

Raennyn's usually just a chill lil dude who likes to do recreational drugs with his two Sylvari buddies he met in Caledon Forest. He doesn't talk about his trauma, simply cus he doesn't think he's gone through anything really traumatic (bro?) and he's just living life without worry. He's the easy-going dude that can talk to anyone and his presence is non-threatening. He's like a relaxing capybara.

However, when he's being ordered for a hit on a target, his whole demeanor changes. He's focused and merciless. His preferred method is to assassinate his target quickly and quietly. But if there's no way to do that, he will watch and learn his target's routine, what they like to do, and how best to dispatch them without raising any alarms.

He has yet to be caught, but he has fumbled once, and that was in the Fractals of the Mists. A hard place to track down and retrieve a target.

In my story, Ardjin is very tall for an Asura. And Raennyn inherited Ardjin's height.

But then there's Zyffre who's like the smallest mofo out of all my Asura, like bro neither of your parents were short what happened 😂

A lil sneak peek

Working on these screenshots to edit Raennyn into a ref sheet that I can use for future doodles.

So far I edited the scar off his face and added an extra hair strand to match the the one already present. It's slow going, I need to add his augments and then his prosthetic legs. I'm looking at GW2's Golem concept art for inspiration for his legs. But that'll be later, I needa add his neural implants at the nape of his neck and down his spine. Also need to add augments to his chest.
