New fit. I am a sucker for turtlenecks and love having a more tech-y fit, especially with the Crimson Vanquisher staff and Heretical Scholar's staff, I love them (though I also love my Sanguine staff from halloween because vampire teehee).

wip wednesday

on an actual wednesday this time! tagged by @kookaburra1701

the most interesting thing i have going on is a suitably edgy looking revenant rat i made purely to drag kudu's dessicated corpse back into plot relevance but got way too attached

title pending but this is zivv. he's an asshole who's annoyingly good at everything he does. busting his ass to be the pinnacle of asuran skill and intelligence. he's above average at best (something he'll vehemently deny), but in multiple fields, which makes the difference

a longer winded explanation of his character is below vvv

the current object of his fascination is dragon energy. he's very interested in taming these energies... he claims it's to reinforce asuran supremacy, to prove to the world that his people are the most competent, naturally, and that nothing can stand in their way. they don't need those pesky tall idiots around to achieve marvels. to subdue the very rules of nature. so he believes

he's in cahoots with kuda, as zivv was very interested in whatever scraps of her father's research he could get his hands upon, so it makes sense to partner up with his successor. it's all a rather cold and professional relationship. upon learning of the existence of revenants and their ties to the dead, a new hypothesis begins circling his head: what if some figment of kudu remains in the mists? what if he can retrieve it? study under his wing, come to know all that HE knew in life... surely it's possible?

zivv goes missing for months on end. not unusual in the inquest - he probably died, everyone thinks. no big deal, he's replaced within the week. but he unexpectedly returns! with a heavier air to him, despite his smooth and suave demeanour. he's much more adept than he was. his reflexes sharper, his strength improved... he knows things he never could've learned on his own

all of this is on account of both going to hell and back, and having the most annoying motherfucker living as a ghost in his head now. obviously a secret that nobody is privy to (least of all kuda can you fucking imagine. she'd turn him inside out). zivv can tolerate kudu rather well, all things considered. he understands his responsibility in their newfound relationship - he's a permanent debtor in exchange for knowledge and advice

if you look at his eyes close enough, you'll notice a purple gleam in his eyeshine...

"oh but revenants can't use guns" he can he has the power. he has an electric shotgun. i just haven't drawn it properly yet because i'm bad at designing and drawing weapons

he's coping rather well with his situation anyhow

In the aftermath of the events in the Horn of Maguuma, the retired commanders visit while Leyya is recovering from her injuries. Hoping to keep Zojja's mind off the tumultuous events she only recently endured, the pair inquires about how she and Leyya met, and so the story of two lonely progeny finding their way begins.

I did some edits to update Leyya's hair to her new look, and I'll be doing that with the other two pages before I get started again on this project. Looking forward to actually telling this story!

All my GW2 related Artfight attacks from this year! Very sadly there are three that didn't make it to the finish line because I ran out of time x( I had a wonderful July this year and got so much beautiful art from everywhere!!! I also learned like three new artstyles and ascended at least two separate times which is pretty neat
