Met Eleonora Vallone last night at the film presentation "Gold and Lead" and She is the daughter of one of my favourite actors Raf Vallone and Elena Varzi. Eleonora made her film debut in 1979 in the "poliziottesco" Gardenia, and later starred in several genre films, also in the more ambitious Alberto Bevilacqua drama film Le rose di Danzica. In 1981 she hosted the Sanremo Music Festival alongside Claudio Cecchetto. In the same year she appeared nude in several men's magazines such as Playmen and the Italian edition of Playboy that litteraly...sold out!!! A pioneer and teacher of water gymnastics, Eleonora Vallone founded the first Italian school for water aerobics instructors, and she patented the method "GymNuoto". She also wrote three books about waterobics, "GymNuoto", "GymVasca" and "GymSwim". She was enchanting to Watch and has a lovely personality. More important is, obviously, her father Raf Vallone: his first job as a movie actor was a bit part in We the Living (1942) (aka, "We the Living"), but Vallone was not serious about acting as a career. Hired as a researcher on a film about labor unrest, director Giuseppe De Santis (with whom my family used to visit every summer in Sperlonga) cast Vallone as a soldier competing with Vittorio Gassman for the love of Silvana Mangano in what became the neo-realist classic Bitter Rice (1949 "RISO AMARO"). The film propelled Vallone, pronounced a natural actor by De Santis, into international stardom and ended his journalism career... Vallone then became a major star in Italy in the 1950s and then a player in the global film industry, making movies in Italian, French and English. Vallone achieved popularity with American audiences in the 1960s, starting with his supporting roles in Two Women (1960) ("Two Women") and El Cid (1961), both co-starring Sophia Loren. Other major actresses he co-starred with on film and stage included Gina Lollobrigida, Anna Magnani, Melina Mercouri, Simone Signoret, and Elena Varzi, to whom he was married for 52 years, until his death in 2002. #eleonoravallone #rafvallone #risoamaro #marcusberesford #carpediem #livemoments (presso Ex Caserma Guido Reni) https://www.instagram.com/p/B6N1O8Wosky/?igshid=e2ak1849w9tj
