How do cards with hybrid mana interact with Edgewalker and Ragemonger? E.G. Boros Reckoner and Ragemonger or Edgewalker with Deathbringer Leige while Arcane Adaptation is out.

When you cast a spell with a hybrid cost, you determine which option you’re choosing for each hybrid mana in that cost before you apply any cost reduction effects.

With Ragemonger and Boros Reckoner, this means that Ragemonger will reduce its cost by {R} as long as you choose red for at least one of the mana symbols in Boros Reckoner’s cost.

Hi, I encountered someone on a MtG forum today who stated that reducing the cost of a spell by <>(colorless) could reduce it's cost by <> or 1. Then they said their claim was backed up by rule 117.7b. This doesn't seem correct. Can you weigh in?

That’s correct.

If an effect would reduce the cost of a spell by a specific mana symbol (vs. reducing it by an amount of generic mana), then the cost will be reduced by that much generic mana if there are no symbols of that type in the cost.

Note that some cost reduction effects specifically prohibit this reduction rollover, such as Edgewalker and Ragemonger.

Does Ragemonger reduce the bestow cost of Gnarled Scarhide? And why/why not?

No.

Part of casting a card with bestow is choosing to pay the bestow cost (or not). As soon as you decide that you'll be paying the bestow cost, the spell becomes an aura spell and stops being a creature spell, which means it stops being a Minotaur spell.

It's not until later in the casting process that we determine the total cost of the spell, and at that point Ragemonger just sees an aura spell that it doesn't care about.

Ragemonger and gnarled scar hide: if cast for it's bestow cost, will ragemonger reduce it by B?

No.

By the time you determine its costs, it's no longer a creature spell, which means it's not a Minotaur spell.
