Bloody hell! BLOODY HELL!! BLOODY!! HELL!!
... excuse the lapse into Richard Richard territory, but... BLOODY HELL!!!
22 hours of travelling (featuring deer-related airstrikes, unexplained ‘maintenance crew’ delays and a flight in one of those two-prop-on-a-shonky-string-black-and-white-B-movie-thriller things) justified in three minutes of Bathing Digits>Rocker Part 2...
Throw in an insane Nothing Too Fancy (theme and reprise!) and Der Bluten Kat and the unlikely twangsome country/Death Metal hybrid of Phil’s Farm and voilà: a cure for jet-lag.
Being an awful lot closer to Birmingham, AL than Brum, UK Plunger couldn’t help but smile at the riotous reception the Asheville crowd gave the thunderous Black Sabbath/War Pigs segue (featuring Anders Beck and Paul Hoffman from openers Greensky Bluegrass.)
It may have been way past Plunger’s old fogey bed time (GMT) but we were belting out “Tomorrow you’ll be sufferin’ on the shitter” to 40s Theme and granddad grooving to Bad Friday like there was no tomorrow...
... and this was only show one of three...
BLOODY!!
HELL!!
