There certainly was no shortage of men without shirts in this place - and they all carried themselves with such similar airs. Did this land just happen to attract people who looked like they’d just returned from a vacation in Southgand? Sure, the place was in rubble, but certainly they could’ve found something to cover up with. Another note for the journal, she supposes.

She’s about to whip out a pen when she comes across another one of those large, muscley-types sitting on a curb, seemingly zoned out to all noise of the world. A feat in a place like this.

She promptly plops down next to him, crossing her arms behind her head and gazing out at the horizon with the same wistful gaze he carries on his face. “So what’re you in for?”

A giant hole in the middle of the city was something new. Though not unexpected given the disaster area this whole place was. As tempted as he was to try and see how far down it went, he knew that was a bad idea. He wasn’t that desperate to meet death face to face. Crouching down, he started to toss some pebbles in, but they gave no sound back.

Figures. There was no clear sight down, anything could be down there that would nullify the noise, or they could even be still falling. Looking over his shoulder, he spotted someone else around the area.

“Hey,” he called out, waving an arm to get their attention. “Do you have a light source of some kind? I want to see how far down this thing goes.”
