<p>Pakistan wrapped up England as Yasir and Amir cleaned them up to give Pakistan a 67 runs lead. Thats massive in this ground with England to bat last. Nobody batted through for England like Misbah and Asad did for Pakistan. Cook tried but did not get company. England had dismiss Pakistan for 150-170 to make a match of it. ANoything more than 250 for chase could be daunting. Broad picked Hafeez early. Masood and Azhar had a decent 42 run stand before Woakes brought Englnad back again. From 44-1, Pakistan were reduced to 60-4 as Misbah already got out cheaply. Match on. Younis, Azad and Tail remained. Could England wrap up Pakistan without Anderson? They could have had they not dropped catches. Azad and Younis had 69 run to steady Pakistan ship. Tail wagged as Sarfaraz and Yasir played cameos and so did Azad. Pakistan made 215 and England were set a target of 283. 40 too much one would say. Woakes picked up another 5 for to have 11 for the match. Not too many at Lords have achieved that. England needed Root and Cook to fire. Rahat Ali early spell thrashed all those hopes as he took 3 initial wickets to reduce England 47-3. Vince and Ballance gave England some hope. Riaz and Yasir then put England further back as from 96-3, England were reduced to 139-3. England never had a bigger than 49 run stand which told the story. Pakistan are dangerous when a team is chasing against them as that brings the best in them. Ball had started reversing . Wah was bowling some dangerious line with Englnad team having no idea of which side its reversing. Bairstiw who had a brilliant run in test off late was fighting it out with Woakes. They garnered run by run and even managed a fifty run stand. Just when it looked like England had a chance, Bairstow was bowled for 48. He misread Yasir. Amir and Yasir wrapped the tail to give Pakistan a famous win at Lords. Amir who was banned in 2010 while playing in England took the last wicket. Life has way to give moments back to a person and this is a classic example. Yasir is the Lord of Lords as he took a ten for and valuable knock to extend Pakistan lead.Pakistan is a team which can be dangerous if their batting fired. Misbah and Azad Shafiq ensured they did well. Thats where England lacked. Their middle consisting of Vince, Ballance, Bairstow and Ali was the weak link. Baring Bairstow rest are not players who could take the match away from the opposition. India beat England in Lords 2 seasons back but still lost series 3-1. But england batsman to fire and Anderson to return. The difference in the end? 75 runs. At one point on Friday, England were 118-1. Not long after they were 193-6. That is where the game was lost.</p>
<p>On day 3, British open turned out be a 2 horse race as baring Mickelson and Stenson, all faltered under gutsy winds and tricky greens. Stenson scored a brilliant 68 and Mickelson scored a 69. Stenson became sole elader at 12 under,1 ahead of Mickelson.Rory, Garcia, Zach Johnson all faltered. Haas is the only player other than Mickelson and Stenson to have under par score in all 3 rounds. But he was still 5 shots off Mickelson. That was the gap between top 2 and rest. Crazy things have happened in golf but unlikely both would choke. Mickelson has great chance to add to his 5 majors and would have advantage of having played under pressure on final round. It would be all new for Stenson. Would it be American who would win for 7th consecutive time in Royal Troon or would Swedish claim glory? Final day tussle started brilliantly. Stenson's 1 stroke lead was wiped out in first hole as Mickelson made a birdie and Stenson a bogey. Was it indication of things to come? No. Stenson bounced back with 3 birdies. Mickelson had his own magic as he hit a eagle at 4th hole. Score was tied between two after 5 holes. Cracker of a context. Mickelson hit a birdie to gain lead. Stenson was in some serious hitting form as he garnered birdies at 6 and 8th hole to get lead back. Stenson lead at half way stage by 1 stroke. Some seriously good golf by Mickelson and Stenson. Both hit birdies at 10th hole. Stenson hit a bogey in next hole but hit a birdie 2 holes later to gain back the lead. He hit another birdie at 15th. Mickelson had a calm period with no bogeys nor any birides during this phase. Both players hit birdie at 16th. Stenson carried a 2 stroke elad to final two holes. Are we witnessing a non American winner in Royal Troon since Bobby Locke in 1950? He derved it the way he played. Mickelson deserved as well as he had a bogeyless 6 under so far. Both had par at 17th. So Mickelson needed Stenson to choke on final hole!! It did not happen. Stenson's 64 gives Royal Troon's first European winner in last 66 years. Mickelson master class in vain. This would hurt him more. Even a 63 in first round was not enough. He had 15 foot birdie to make it 62 then!! Would that haunt him!! Only time will tell. He only had 4 bogeys in 72 holes. Its a shame that he ended up being second. Stenson had 3 more bogeys but showed great grit to have solid 3 rounds. He birdies last hole to hit a record equalling 63. Mickelson hit a 63 at first round and Stenson hit at final round. To play with such heart against a player of Mickelson's calibre is a great stroy. Sweden have a new sporting hero!! JB Holmes came 3rd and was a staggering 11 shots behind Mickelson. These 2 players were playing in different compared to rest.</p>
