     “You think I say those words knowing they will be listened to? I am not stupid, but angry.” And her words were not helping the feeling, leaving their lips pulled back into a snarl before they spit on the ground in a show of disrespect. 

     “I have no idea what idea you’ve seared into your brain, what — what is it that you think is dangerous enough to rob your own people of their ambitions, sanity and freedom? Is it that you're more scared of them turning against you? Of human greed and desire and determination finding some way into your perfect Eternity? Because you will never be able to quell that and it’s already there. You—" 

       They sharply stopped, staring straight through her for a few more moments before turning on their heel and walking away. If words won't get through, and they can't fight her, the least they can do is make her and the Tenryou Commissions lives a living hell when it comes to Resistance, even if it was only through the background. 

     Disgrace of a god in their eyes.

For a moment that feels like hours to his dazed mind, he doesn't say anything, eyes fixated on that last drop of alcohol in the cup in his hands.

And then, he smiles, looking more desperate than genuine. Maybe it is alright if for once, just once, he lets himself go completely. And maybe he's just tired of carefully tucking away his own thoughts all the time.

"Ya... ya r'lly think I knew what I was doin'...? Jus' breakin' in there without a plan or even thinkin'...?"

He could laugh at himself and his own foolishness, really.

"I guess... gods r'lly don't understand humans... especially- especially a god like you."

Because why else would she be doing the things she's doing? Would she really have gone so far if she knew? If she could see the pain it was causing, the struggle it was for so many people to survive in this Inazuma? The things her own army was doing to innocents?

"I jus'... I wanted to save him. He was so nice 'n' I never had a friend before... 'n' not one like him. 'N' I didn't hav' anyone who cared about me like he did... He didn't deserve that, big duel or not-" he needed to breathe before he went further... yet he just took another sip, even if it was just to get those few stray droplets into his mouth, to feel something on his tongue. It suddenly tasted so bitter.

"... I wanted to save him 'n' I couldn't 'cause I was too late 'n' too weak. But I didn't want ya to win even after that. 'N' I wanted... I wanted to save at least somethin' he cared about." He could already feel his vision on his back, feel the wisps of wind around him and his hands trembling around the cup. "I didn't want him to disappear 'n' everyone to jus' forget him when he was the only one to try. So I jus' took his vision. It was what he was hopin' to save with that duel... so I jus' did it."

Deep breaths, deep breaths. Even if the alcohol made his head spin when he tried. He couldn't lose what little grip he still had left right now.

Why did this feel like he was somehow confessing to his own sins? ... Maybe he was, as if any god out there would ever tell him he deserved forgiveness for anything.

"... I don't care 'bout myself. I already know what I did 'n' didn't do... 'n' I know I can never fix that. His vision already burned me 'n' I deserved that... 'n' everythin' that happened after that. I jus' want to hope that someone better than me... can still carry his ambition..."

Was that selfish? Was it a stupid, naive hope? It was all he really had left by now.

"Hehehe... Maybe... maybe ya shoulda tried harder to kill me that day."

Kazuha tried to hide his jolt but he couldn’t, especially with Raiden being in a foul mood. It was a mighty tasks to ask this of her, but progress to help the people of Inazuma needed to be made, so speaking up to tell her what had been happening under her watch that she ignored was daunting.

“The merchants in Rito are still being taxed heavily even without the decrees closing the nation. They wish for the tax to be brought down so no more are struggling.” Why him of everyone in the resistance did she wish to have him be here? This kind of stuff was more up Kokomi’s ally.

Kazuha was hardly a diplomat.

He watches with a sort of distant, concerned, but neutral expression. He sits with his legs crossed under him and his arms folded against his chest in a sort of casual expression as he sits on the railing of the Shogun’s balcony. He’s here only due to the reasons he doesn’t understand, but he’ll never pass up an opportunity for peace. It beats beating each other until the daylight fades. He listens calmly, her words resonating with something in him. Is that... pity? Worry? Concern? Sadness? It’s strange. He watches her with green eyes, his expression having this unreadable mix of all sorts of different reactions contained within a vacant and calm expression. Unjudging. 

“Then there would be no light for anyone else.” 

He looks up at the moon, as it is currently night time. The cherry blossoms fall around the Tenshukaku and the petals drift upward to the Shogun’s balcony. The blue traveler, one with the wind in mind, body and soul, feels the connection to the breeze lifting the petals up. A palm opens too rest a petal within it, before he brings it between index and middle finger and moves arm toward the Shogun, Baal. Ei. Bael. Whatever she wishes to call herself.

“Sometimes there are people in this world that fill us with so much hate, it creates a beast within us that we often find ourselves wrestlin’ with. I hate to feed that side of me, so I shrug off all the food it can get from things that live to cause me hate. I allow myself to float freely amidst the wind.”

For a humble traveler, he’s oddly philosophical in this moment. He lets the petal go before the Shogun can grab it, if she reaches for it. The wind carries it off and his eyes follow it.

“The wind carries me from one adventure to the other, and I do not weigh it down with worries of loathing, fear, and anxiety.”

              A sharp grunt leaves the warrior’s lips, having been shoved against a nearby wall with the polearm’s blade to their neck. Eivor looked deep into the shogun’s violet eyes - a sense of determination filling them as soon as they studied her. Stubborn. They can do better than what they have given her. Before even thinking twice, they summoned their axe to press up against the polearm, causing it to lift from them and just as swiftly turned them both around so that it was she pressed against the wall, with their axe to her neck. A light growl escapes their lips, having been successful and wanted to show that they meant it. Before long, they lowered their axe from her neck and took a step back.                             ❝You shouldn’t underestimate me, Almighty Raiden Shogun. I am much stronger than you think I am.❞                      They speak in a rather low tone, but there’s a hint of a smirk on their lips.

狐  斎  宮     golden orbs flit around, taking in her surroundings. it is strange being in a city. she has become so used to that small shack in the woods. the time to move on had come, though. the couple had taken care of her for so many months. she had been getting antsy. her ability to stay still had waned and she needed to leave. sitting there in those woods, she knew something was missing from her. and she knew she needed to find it. whatever it was.

                         her tail sways back and forth idly and her ears twitch  with each noise as she sits at a stall. they serve the most interesting drink here. dango milk. why, she never would have imagined such a thing to exist. while she much prefers savory to sweet, the texture is akin to a porridge and it’s filling. she sips it slowly, enjoying the flavor. the city held many wonders, but so far.. well, it held no memories.

                         feeling a bit melancholy now, she thanks the stall owner and stands from her stool. before she leaves, she takes another look around. everything feels so unfamiliar. while she is certain she’s been here before, it seems so foreign. cities don’t change overnight. how long has it been since she set foot in inazuma city? there’s no way for her to know. since she woke in that grotto, very few things have triggered memories in her. her entire being feels empty. worthless. ‘ what is the point of living a life with no memories? ’, she thinks. has she always felt this way? is it a feeling that carries over from her past? perhaps not all of her is lost, after all.

                         out of the corner of her eyes, she catches glimpse of a figure. regal in bearing and so very lovely. it feels.. how can she put it? like.. that person carries a piece of her with them. the woman approaches the stall and toshimi stares at her, unable to do anything else. something hits her. her hand flies to her head and she grimaces in pain, eyes falling shut. the vision she gets is fleeting. a spring day. laid out on a blanket. someone who looks like moonlight. someone who compliments the moonlight. they feel like the sky in the dark. and then, there’s someone that sends a spark through her being. she knows those eyes. it’s so sudden. just a flash, like lightning, and it’s gone. 

                        when she’s able to open her eyes, she feels dizzy. was someone speaking to her? she was so absorbed in the pain and the hint of her past that she couldn’t tell.
