🕺🏽Feliz Sexta-feira galera!💃🏾 The weather is amazing. What’s everyone doing tonight? It’s interesting to think back at stages of life and all the stories in my head that only get remembered when someone brings up a word or scenario that acts as a memory trigger. A while back, a young fellow names Augie and I were sitting in a room at some janky office on Alma School and we started throwing around slogans and ideas for a Mesa related trinkets shop. We had been using a few slogans that didn’t fly so well. ie: DOwntown MEsa (DO-ME) #FindItInMesa, “If you knew it, you’d do it!” and a few others. Thinking about the make up of West Mesa now and the roots of Mesa we jokingly said Hecho En Mesa, using the Mexican eagle but adding a M. I printed out some stickers and passed them around. Little came of it. Years later I saw @hecho_en_mesa pop up on IG and was impressed by the much better branding, the community involvement, the investment in shirts, stickers and postcards and I flipped!! SO COOL!! Who are these masked Mesans? Gosh dang it they’re good and taking our half-effort to the next level. THANKYOU!!! I’m proud to say that I finally scored one of these shirts and will be continuing to fully support the effort to proliferate a better small business environment in Downtown Mesa, Asian Town Mesa and Fiesta District. Your mission: 1. buy one of these shirts at [email protected]. A few places in downtown carry them. Ask around at Oro and they can point you in the right direction. 2. Send someone the postcard. 3. Place the sticker on something that you own and display it proudly. 4. Visit Downtown Mesa, take photos and post about its magic profusely. #HechoEnMesa #iheartmesa #railmesa #commUNITY #mesatown #mesaaz #smallbusiness #localfirstaz #downtownmesa #fiestadistrictmesa #asiatownmesa #groundup #negocioslatinos #communityovercompetition (at Oro Brewing Company) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwvMCHPhx40/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=8k75buyea65
