Yeah, so this one-shot that I’m writing has taken on an absolute life of its own…
What started as an insight into Glinda’s thoughts the night Elphaba died, has now ended up exploring several moments of Glinda’s life from beginning to end.
This has meant I’ve had to revisit each of Maguire’s entries into ‘The Wicked Years’ series for the first time in a long time, and I had forgotten just how much the beginning of ‘Out of Oz’ killed me - I just love book!Glinda so much, and I just want a full-length novel centred on her relationship with Rain. The fact that Glinda couldn’t have children for whatever reason but wanted to be a mother so bad, yet she tries her best to ignore this little orphan that happens to be Elphaba’s granddaughter until she can’t hold back any longer. AND JUST AS SHE STARTS TO LET HER FEELINGS SHOW, SHE HAS TO SEND RAIN AWAY TO KEEP HER SAFE??? I don’t think I’m over that…
So, yeah, this fic is already at 20k and isn’t even nearly halfway done; I am literally having to fight myself to stop writing and do some uni work…
I think I might just have gotten too into it… But perhaps we’re all due a revival of our obsessions every five years, who knows? I’m not exactly complaining. :)
Hi! I just started listening to Another Day on audiobook. I don't have access to the e-book or a physical copy.
Could someone please provide me the names of the seven brides when Rain arrives?
I am having a hard time telling them apart.
Update! I just found a wiki page (with many spoilers though, so no screenshot, just a link for credit).
Their names are (from the oldest to the youngest):
Helia
Mirka
Tirr
Bray
Kliompte
Scyrilla
Acariana "Cossy"
