kinda beautiful that elphaba was weird and downbad for glinda and that got passed down to liir in the sense that he wanted glinda as a mother figure despite glinda showing no traits that would make her suited for this role and having a mental breakdown during their first meeting and rain broke the cycle by accepting glinda's an old fool. wow things really can get better

Liir: “Listen Rain, don’t fall in love with blonde Gillikinese men. They will (allegedly) leave you for your wife and disappear off the face of Oz.”

Rain: “Don’t tell me what to do” proceeds to fall in love with a blonde Gillikinese woman who becomes the ruler of Oz.
