ahhh yes jean my love.

I'm so boring with Jean's gender. I've actually written him cis multiple times. I know, shame on me. But I've read a lot of different takes on Jean's gender and I think a lot of them have their own merit. I've been thinking about the term "skelogender" that you mentioned in your response and I keep thinking about Jean having this weird complicated relationship with gender inside of himself-the way he was raised, the way other people treat him, the way he imagines himself-that he is just really struggling to interpret to others. I can also see him getting kind of down on himself, because he's constantly trying to measure himself up to the other trans people in his life, while also going "No, I'm definitely not whatever Armin's gender is, but I'm also not Eren's, and Mikasa's got a cool take on it, but that's not me, either." But there is a gender inside of him that's absolutely a part of him, even if he isn't entirely sure how to interpret it yet.

I'm very big on panromantic Jean, but like... him not being happy about it a lot of the time. He falls in love very hard and very fast and it's frustrating as hell, because he also reveals this to the person in question in a super embarrassing way. I always imagine Jean as super poly and constantly flustered.

For his sexuality, I'm into pansexual Jean. I think he wishes he could explore things like Armin does, but he isn't as confident in it (yet). But if he has the right partners, he totally could. Hopefully the stars will align correctly for this (in my universes they do, I don't think I could ever live with myself giving Jean an unhappy ending after tormenting him as much as I do with his interpersonal relationships).
