What a true statement. I can tell you that growing up, I went through some STUFF. And, still, there has been so much in my son's life that I just didn't know how to handle. "Kids" today are different. The world is so different. But, what it means to be a kind and decent human being, I believe, has not changed. Isn't it also true that most parents also want to do "better" or differently than their parents did? While I was fortunate to have never doubted how much I was loved by mom, today, as a parent, I aim to provide the much needed guidance to my son (or any young people in my life) that my own mother was unable to give. I hate when I give my little a hug and send him off to dad's, then hear him crying in the car that he wants to come back in and stay at my house 😭

Close second is his incoherent behavior when he first comes back from dad's house.
