ok, so, not really a request or anything but i just NEED to spill an au idea that's been spinning in my head, and currently i have no mutuals who are as autistic abt boothill as i am 😅 (this is technically an altered version cause the og has an oc in it lol)
Boothill's daughter lives au but alas the monkey's paw is a ruthless bastard: she's taken in by the IPC after being found by a worker (she was originally saved by someone who happened to be in the right place the right time) after finding her in the arms of a dead native. Boothill doesn't know this, and so his backstory goes on as usual but eventually he's face to face with his baby girl all grown up ("grown up" ok its more like, 10 or so- but hey, parent vision)
Where they meet is likely just wherever the worker who took her in lives (likely absolutely covered with IPC for boothill to be there)
This is really just a barebones concept but i just wanted to plague you with the same brainworm this au concept gave me. (Now if she subconciously remembers him or forgot him completely is entirely up to your preference in angst levels LMAO) does it make any logical sense for her to have survived? No, but im nothing if not self indulgent✌️
Hi anon! I will confess that I'm normally a bit averse to AUs and whatnot of Boothill’s daughter being alive but this is such a cool AU concept !! Ough... I can only imagine the heartbreak Boothill would feel seeing his daughter call someone else, a member of the IPC no less, her parent </3 Just seeing a lackey take care of her, giving her treats and touching her hair would have him beside himself with anger. He's already had his entire life taken away and to see his daughter be molded into the IPC's image, away from her culture, would make him break
One thing that I can 100% see happening is Boothill being in heavy denial that she's the same baby girl that he'd found crying in the wild all those years ago. It can't be her! Even if those eyes twinkle the same way as the little angel's and he can still hear remnants of that same cheerful laughter that he'd hear when she slapped the lil' guitar he'd made !!
Even if his daughter didnt remember him (which is more than likely since she'd have been 12 months max at the time of the bombing), I can imagine her feeling some kind of instinctual pull towards Boothill. Instincts, instincts and all that. Maybe she can just vaguely remember seeing the same white-and-black hair once before, or having heard a familiar voice. Its so... WAAAAAHHH </3 just imagining Boothill trying to gain his daughter's trust, trying to figure out a way to make her believe the truth has me distraught (/´△`\)
Thank yew for sharing this concept with me !! I'll definitely be thinking about it for a while (。・´д`・。)
