I updated all my SWTOR oc info so im just going to make a big post about it. behold my guys. play touys with me
its got a paragraph or two about all my little guys so i will put a readmore under fenley. i am merciful like that
FENLEY
The Empire’s Wrath (Sith Warrior). An ex-jedi padawan, he is a Miralukan powered by spite and actually every other emotion. He condenses his emotions down almost like a diamond under pressure. Because of this, he tends to bleed emotion into the force if he’s not mindful – and hes often not. He is defiant and stubborn, but has a sense of humor. He can actually be quite playful and energetic, but like with a wild animal, it’s easy for that playfulness to turn to viciousness, so watch out! He finds being a Sith allows him to both feel all of his emotions and weaponize them, which he loves wholeheartedly. Regular, run of the mill troops are pretty taken with him, given his propensity for dropping into battlefields unnannounced and raising hell. He’s possessive of troopers under his command, however temporarily.
Additionally, he has an MD-CH1 droid that serves as an assitive droid for him, as he cannot see holograms. It has a bad temper and what amounts to knives for feet, and it gets on with Fenley like a house on fire. He WILL let it loose into enemy ships to see what happens.
AIFENN
The Hero of Tython (Jedi Knight). Present during the sacking of Courascant as a padawan. Pardon my candle analogy, but this Miraluka will burn himself at both ends just to keep others warm (threat, promise.) He genuinely believes that there is a spark of good inside everyone. When discomfited, he defaults to being very polite... Underneath all of that, he does have a sense of humor, he tends to banter with his enemies if he knows them well enough. He believes strongly in not letting his emotions control him, although he does FEEL them. Like a good jedi, he tries to release his emotions into the force, or at the very least not let them effect his judgement in the field... He is not always successful. He is a dutiful commander with a gentle side he isn’t often allowed to indulge. Belives wholeheartedly in the Jedi and the good they are trying to do. Has attached himself as something of a guard to Sh'Iloh, which helps fill the void his padawan-brother Fenley left when he defected. Yes he IS attached, but he's quite hard on himself, so he thinks that it's the least of his sins. This is what happens when you take a guy who wants to be a temple guard and protect people but ends up being really good at dueling and killing because he has trauma related to being an overachiever (thanks, Fenley...)
Additionally, he has an RE-1 scout droid that serves as an assitive droid for him, as he cannot see holograms. It’s an excitable little thing that can often be found scuttling up and down his armor, or bouncing along behind him. It is a chipper and curious little fella.
SH'ILOH
The Jedi Sage (Consular). An emotionally distant Jedi seer with an intense and powerful connection to the force – the cosmic force, specifically. This leaves them physically weak and often strains their body. Hear me out: being a ceaseless conduit for the will of the force takes a toll. The force loves them and it SUCKS. Have you tried to pour a waterfalls worth of water through a straw? That’s how Sh'Iloh feels all the time. It is frankly exhausting. It also lets off a sort of invisible signal to others: people consistently report their hair standing on end, and a pervasive feeling of being watched while in Sh'Iloh’s vicinity.
Their force visions work like this: They can see the branching paths that lead to different futures – most clearly for turning points involving them. This can be something huge or just what the different choices at breakfast will lead their day to be like. It’s on 24-7. They often experience a feeling of deja-vu, and feel disconnected from the present, meaning they make logical and emotionless strategic decisions. It’s always a surprise to them when people show they genuinley care or hold strong feelings for them. Always trying to shift the future down the path that will most greatly benefit the most people. Is somewhat disillusioned with the Jedi order, but prefers it to whatever experiments the Sith would undoubtedly subject them to.
DUSTROS
Darth Vindictus (Sith Inquisitor) is an ex-slave that clawed his way up the ranks to become a Darth. He is surprisingly tolerant of those whose company he enjoys, has a dark sense of humor, and keeps careful tabs on both his friends and his enemies for reasons he prefers to let people sweat over. He also holds a vicious grudge and he ALWAYS gets even. Lobbies against slavery on the council for largely socio-political-economic reasons, so he doesn’t have to get into his feelings about having been a slave. He carefully considers his choices before making decisions, except in the case that one of his options is to kill a slaver, in which he will do it every time he has the opportunity. He has loads of unresolved issues and he’s not going to go to therapy about them, ever. Fun fact: He and Fenley fake dated when both of their positions were more precarious in the Empire to distract from their individual secret workings and it was hilarious.
CYRESK
Cipher Six (Imperial agent) is a Chiss who used to be a member of Csilla's Secret Police before being reassigned to work as a spy for the Chiss’s Imperial Allies as a Cipher agent. Before being sent to the Empire, he volunteered to have his memories erased so that he could not be caught as a double agent. He deeply resents his past self for this, but you'll never get him to admit it. As he hardly remembered his old self, it's only fair that he build his new self off of the bones of the memories he has left and various habits and personality traits from covers on his missions. For example, he decided to always see his targets off with a smile. It's only polite, after all!
His personality is smiling and playful by default. He likes interesting and contradictory things and people, and he enjoys pressing people's buttons to see what sort of reactions he'll get. He dislikes being honest with people about himself, because he sees that as handing over information that can be used against him. He carries out his jobs flawlessly in order to get away with various shenanagins on his missions and so that Keeper stays off his back. He blames his best missions on Cipher 9 to avoid drawing the attention of the Dark Council - which works for a time, but not forever. He's eventually scooped up by Darth Vindictus to serve as his left hand – both gathering information and tying up loose ends.
CILVOE
A smuggler with Republic sympathies, a deep dislike of Chiss and it’s class system, and the owner of a very fast starship. He often pretends to be Pantoran in Republic space and hides his eyes just because it’s easier than explaining he is a Chiss – and safer, because he does not want the Ascendancy to come after his ass for helping out the enemy of their allies. Often smuggles stolen medical supplies and weapons, but has a fondness for plants. Acts first, thinks later, and tends to find himself in situations he could not begin to imagine being in. Sometimes he feels that his life is a comedy and he’s wearing a jester’s hat.
Additionally, he is very cute and a complete lightweight, which has often led to dancers at cantinas doting on him and treating him like a little brother figure. He tries to come off as competent and serious, if not a little intimidating, and it almost always backfires on him. His cuteness cannot be contained and I will not let anyone overlook it so it's game over for him.
LACHLANN CARID
Lachlann of clan and house Carid, Mandalorian bounty hunter and all around problem solver. They come from a traditional clan that prizes honor, and so they act strictly in accordance with Mandalorian values and the Resol'nare: Education and armor, self-defense, our language, our leader - all help us survive. As a Cathar foundling, they do acknowledge that being Mandalorian after the Mandalorian's destroyed their planet and most of the population is... Complex. But it is what it is.
They are blunt and not perfectly fluent in basic. This lends to them speaking as if they're from the space equivilent of medieval times. They believe in keeping their word, are excitable, decisive, and more than a little dense... They care about CONVICTION and HONOR and PROTECTING YOUR PEOPLE and of course FIGHTING INTERESTING ENEMIES and HAVING BIG GENUINE EMOTIONS.
im having a BLAST with my consular on coruscant 100% because of the overworked coruscant security forces. they take one look at my exhausted, waifish consular that has all the fighting strength of an annoyed hummingbird and are like. theyve got a lightsaber. surely they can fight. hey, can you bring in this giant guy who murdered 12 people we'd really appreciate it.
and Sh'Iloh is like. i gotta do the most good for the most people. they asked me for help so I've Gotta.
so i walk Sh'Iloh into the bar, up to this gangster SURROUNDED by his thugs, and before he can even get a sentence out they're like [handwave] go turn yourself in right now. in front of the whole gang. AND THE GUY DOES.
and obviously no one is going to stop my consular after that but its so deeply funny that its happened like three times so far. i dont even think security knows how im doing it. frankly theyre not paid enough to ask.
ok dustros and fenley (my SI and SW) are very funny in the context of the council. ok mostly fenley is funny and dustros is long-suffering.
because yknow, when you kill baras, you don't get his seat. the wrath is outside but equal in the heiarchy. this is great for fenley bad for everyone else, especially vowrawn because fenley can no longer be his successor and he will never be able to retire lmfao
but yeah, TECHNICALLY fenley does have the authority to sit in on meetings, he just doesn't do it often. and that's for the best because he is a menace. theres no chair for him and he makes it everyones problem. he's sat on the arm of vowrawn's chair, the top of dustros' (which is hysterical given how tall those thrones are), starfished out on the floor, and even once sprawled himself sideways across vowrawns lap so they could gossip the whole session.
he avoids the few sessions he's actually called to attend, which means someone has to hunt him down and drag him to dromund kaas, which is a fun game for fenley and literally no one else.
marr often threatens to send people after him... and then often has to... vowrawn thinks its funny and will not help and dustros knows better by now so...
ok time to introduce the worlds saddest wettest attack dog of a chiss. laaika! or mirla'aik'avim if you want to be specific. my ONE chiss who has a full chiss name. she is a miserable loner because she is an alien in the empire. the ASCENDANCY dont want her. the EMPIRE don't want her. you know the sith academy is not wanting her. life is hard. lets be desperate for belonging together...
laaika is constantly anxious and deferential, even in situations where she has to need to be. she gets walked over so easily... she would try to stay quiet and blend in but sith arent allowed to do that, depression/anxiety are not really sith approved emotions, so she is just. an outsider. always. she wants to belong so badly but she doesn't know how to make that a reality, and frankly she has had the will to try beaten out of her by bitter experience. dog kicked one too many times while down.
she will HESITANTLY ask questions, largely mission related if she absolutely has to, but her first solution is violence after all the sith training. she has more or less learned to ask first at least... panic attacks are also violent darkside outbursts. so if she freaks out too badly everyone is collateral damage. this was encouraged during her training but is exhausting. girl. she belongs at the club look at what the sith are doing out here.
backstory-wise laaika is. okay. imagine you are a chiss in the ascendancy with force sensitivity. you are a kid with force sensitivity and everyone hates you and thinks you're cursed and wants you off the planet. BUT. and this iis important. CSILLA is allied with the EMPIRE, and they're an emminently practical people. why throw away a force sensitiive when you can give them to your new "allies" and garner good will AND get rid of the problem?
so laaika is sent to the empire at a fairly young age, fully aware that her people don't want her and she has nowhere else to go. and that if shes not good at this sith thing, the empire won't want her either and they'll probably just kill her because she is an alien, and they dont LIKE aliens in the empire. which is totally good and normal for a childs development im sure.
she is basically an overly anxious and sad assassin for whatever sith she ends up with, or the council as a whole if she gets that high. shes' not one of the main backstories! just a sith trying to make it in the empire while knowing she doesn't belong there.
darth vindictus aka dustros redsun aka an ex-slave that clawed his way up the ranks to eventually take a seat on the dark council.
he is surprisingly tolerant of those whose company he enjoys, has a dark sense of humor, and keeps tabs on both his friends and enemies for reasons that he prefers to let people sweat over. he considers his choices before making decisions like the dejarik master he is, but if one of those choices is to kill a slaver? he will do it every single time he can and he will make it hurt the entire time. he holds a vicious grudge and he ALWAYS gets even. he has loads of unresolved issues and he is not going to therapy about any of them, ever.
as for his work on the dark council... he is constantly lobbying against slavery for literally any reason he can think of. it ends up being mostly socio-political-economic arguements to try to convince the rest of the council, because his own feelings about having been a slave will not play into their decisions (much to his relief. again, he doesn't want to get into that.) he is also constantly trying to get the empire to start a war with the hutts and simply take over hutt space.
fun fact: he and fenley fake dated when both of their positions were more precarious in the empire to distract from their individual secret workings and it was HILARIOUS.
fun fact two: he is actually a clone of Artus Redsun, the lost Mand'alor. their matching last names and history of being enslaved on tatooine are the force's idea of a joke. dustros is technically older than the guy he was cloned from, given that Artus was trapped in a force nexus. the imperial reclaimation service got ahold of some of his dna and therefore so did the rest of the empire, and you know what they're like with their science experiments...
i am still deciding how he and artus meet but :3c it will be fun
my idea with him is basically: he was a young resistence/guerilla fighter that the republic found doing real damage against the empire and threw him into havoc squad at the last second... grabbed him by the scruff and were like welcome to the republic! he has no idea how he ended up in the army or why. i have to assume the republic caught him doing a war crime and did not explain that it was wrong, they were just like 'do it officially or go to jail forever' and he was like. what
thing is. he is impulsive and abrasive and difficult. he has no idea how to work in a team. (even more relevant, he does not know what a war crime is. yes... he is operative spec why do you ask.....)
anyways welcome to havoc squad cavhre. good luck you little idiot youre here forever!
fenley! the partyboy wrath himself! catch him clubbing at nar shaddaa!
he's an ex-jedi padawan, powered by spite and actually every single other emotion. :)
he's playful, defiant, energetic and stubborn... its a bit like being too close to a wild animal. his playfulness will quickly turn to viciousness if you're not careful, so watch out! he prefers being a sith to his old life as a jedi, both because he can feel his emotions and weaponize them.
back with the jedi, instead of releasing his emotions, he ended up pushing them down... condensing them with constant pressure. he's pushing emotion on top of emotion on top of emotion to crystalize it, distill it - however you want to think about it - into its purest and strongest form so that he can cram even MORE emotion in on top of it. the guy is a living, breathing hurricane of feeling.
because of this he bleeds emotion into the force if he's not actively minding his shielding - and he is often not! generally on purpose. he revels in all the emotion he wasn't allowed as a jedi and he LOVES pushing other people to act on theirs. his force presence is loud and headache inducing if you're not used to it... he can focus on just one or two emotions if he wants, but they're still LOUD. someone standing next to you with a megaphone and shouting, kind of volume... which is where weaponizing his emotions comes into play.
that’s actually part of why he's such a partier! find him at the CLUB!!! he likes when his emotions bleed over into other people. it's fun to bask in that feeling of strong emotions, ratchet up the intensity, and if he can, he’ll use the emotions of crowds to juice up his own battery, so to speak. if he’s been in the club awhile, people will start acting erratically. being impulsive, esctatic, starting fights, kissing strangers, etc.
overall, he's great PR for the empire despite being an alien and an ex-jedi. he's known for dropping into battlefields unnanounced and raising hell, he's possessive of troops that fall under his command however briefly (which means he keeps them alive), and he can pass for human for photo-ops if he just takes off his mask. he has vestigial eyes, they don't WORK, but they do make him look more human.
also, given that he can't see holograms, he has an assistive droid in the MD-CH1 line. it has a terrible temper and knives for feet and it gets on with fenley like a house on fire. he will let it loose in enemy ships and vents just to see what happens. YES it CAN and DOES fly his ship and it loves to shoot first and ask questions later...
anyways, he's having a GREAT time being vowrawn's wrath, thanks for asking. he maintains a bond with his old padawan brother, aifenn, on the down low...
he is very strong in the force! which is great when he's off being the wrath, but less good the rest of the time, because he is and has always been literally incapable if being gentle with it. force push becomes force shove through a wall. picking someone up could mean crushing them. what he does with his emotions is yet another facet of this.
