Alfa Romeo's competition department, Autodelta, developed a mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive version of the Alfasud Sprint in 1982 to compete in Group B rally competition. The Alfa Romeo Alfasud Sprint 6C was powered by a 2.5-litre “Busso” V6 with a modified steel monocoque and a widebody aero kit designed by Zagato. Two prototypes were built before Alfa Romeo cancelled the project due to financial constraints and safety-related changes in rally regulations.
