Carthago: Merchants and Guilds has a lot of interesting elements and should appeal to gamers who like a medium-weight strategic card game that plays in under an hour. There are some random elements that may frustrate some gamers but quick gameplay and long term planning with some flexibility for tactical opportunities should make up for that. Managing the multi-use cards is essential in this game that can feel tight and punishing at times. This game is tough with 2-players and I imagine the tension rises considerably higher player counts.
