V!Pyro is very interesting to me...

Vampires smp spoilers below, gonna go into a rant.

I've said it multiple times, but I think the reason why Pyro and Scott's relationship is the way it is, is because of his whole family deal.

From what I've learned, Pyro's parents cut him out of the will for being a disappointment. Harsh way to put it, I know.

Anyway, pacing back and forth, with the way he's constantly kneeling to Scott, calling him sire, wanting him to be proud of him, stems from that situation.

He's seeking validation after being seen as nothing more but a disappointing, shameful, unworthy heir. And after Scott basically gives him a second chance at life by both cursing and gifting him with vampirism, he feels compelled to be something greater, something worthy of such thing.

I think it's also worth mentioning how he isn't sure how to interpret, well— anything.

He fears Scott, but also respects him and looks up to him.

He views the vampirism as a gift due to the immortality, and the new topic of research that could make him famous! He could be something to be proud of again!

But he also views it as a curse. The harrowing hunger, the singe of the sun, the fear of being found. If anyone found out, he'd be slaughtered and demonized.

Which brings me to ANOTHER POINT

THIS IS ALL A METAPHOR FOR QUEERNESS. IVE SAID THIS BEFORE AND SO HAS EVERYONE ELSE BUT IT LITERALLY IS.

And I don't just mean vampirism, I mean the entire smp.

From Owen's disease and how people avoided him due to fear of it spreading, then the one person that treated him as a human gets killed, for not being human.

This is VERY queer coded.

The disease is clearly about being queer, which sounds more derogatory than it's supposed to be. But being a queer is TREATED like a disease. Queer people are told to keep away from children for fear of it "spreading." The mayor sharing his vampirism I'm sure is a metaphor for something, but I'm not sure. (Sex doesn't sound right, I think maybe a better word is vulnerability? Being out to another? I DON'T KNOW DON'T LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT)

And now Pyros seeks validation from Scott after being basically disowned by his family, because Scott is one of the few people that acknowledge him and takes him under his (bat) wing after being even MORE outcasted. (And Scott does an awful job at it but—) It's one of those "if I can't please them, I'll please you and prove myself worthy of you." Which is really gay but listen

Also, I may start watching other povs with the clips I'm seeing... :) or I may add to this more. I don't know.

Rewatching (watched it a couple hours ago) and liveblogging

Spoilers for whitepine 8!!

- Serapter feeling bad about not being there defend Ivory

- Ivory feeling like it's her fault because the detective fucking manipulated her and shit

- ZOMBIE HEMLOCKE. I hate you <3

- Had a theory that Zolister and Izzy are working together to help those working for him. Also don't call Zolister a fledgling, freak.

- Ivory pushing herself even though everyone tells her to rest.

- Ivory disassociating is real tbh.

- Seeing serapter fret over Ivory is really sweet <3

- AGHHH I love seeing them be silly little guys

- Beautiful shots I should've waited for this episode to come out before posting Train Of Thought

- seeing Ivory awkwardly sit here while everyone eats, then everything slowly getting muffled when Maddy says "who would want to go a day or two without food." Interesting.

- Ashswag and Clownpierce stayed behind.

- I think Zolister probably entered the attic and forgot to close the door, making Clownpierce paranoid. Especially considering how he talked about protecting the other servants, Ivory getting attacked by the detective, the detective apparently stalking people of the whitepine estate. He truly believes that no one in the estate committed such an awful crime, and wants to protect everyone, maybe they're like his family after all these years.

The hug is really sweet

- i don't think Ivory not wanting to drink is a notable detail but I'll mention it anyway.

- the cut to Bit being their roommate is funny. But also, Bits identity rant is so real. I'm glad he explained this to Ivory, just a side note. And saying she wants to be treated like a normal person is real.

- Muu is so considerate, I genuinely love her. I can't wait to learn more about her. She wants everyone to be happy and free, it's really sweet. She's a new favorite of mine <3

- The forest exploration is really quite nice. Just seeing these new friends having a nice time is my favorite thing in any media.

- side note, this is a crazy theory I had, but I think Ross is a drug dealer. Bro has pills and now wants MUSHROOMS? ...whatever dude...

- The shed. Someone else in the tags had the same theory as me, about the shed being a portal. Ivory just standing there in silence, staring at it, I could tell she was horrified to see the thing she channeled her hate into and destroyed had returned.

- Loppezz and Ivory Interactions are nice to see :)

- I see Borm is still credited at the end of the video (Think it's just because he's mentioned tho)

Im thinking about Whitepine episode 4.

Everyone was focused on the detective and how he was following Ivory around the house, some mentioning how the missing cot was likely taken by him.

But I don't know why, maybe I'm just weird, but that scene where Pyro suggests the guest stay in his room while he sleeps on the floor, then gets a firm NO from his father really... Struck something.

This may be me projecting from my own experiences, but as a queer person, I've always felt so hurt by people who would see anyone of the LGBTQ+ community as perverts or those who want to prey on children. When I was very very young, I came out as a lesbian to my closest friends because I trusted them with this secret, then my dad found the messages and confronted me about it. I was told the usual "you're just confused" and "not all boys are awful" and that was it.

Except it wasn't. When I grew up, I noticed how distanced everyone became towards me after that. I couldn't change in the same room as my female relatives, I couldn't cuddle too close, it was strange.

Again, maybe just projecting 🥀

WHITEPINE PREDICTIONS PEOPLE!!!!

Clownpierce is a war veteran and he's holding a sword/knife, perhaps he will be in a fight of some sorts... He is one of the servants staying home instead of the trip.

Ivory is looking at serapter, who is looking up. Perhaps it's symbolism of him ignoring certain situations..

I'm sick and tired of doing homework due next day so time for my favorite thing to do

WHITEPINE RAMBLES!

(This person takes the series a little too seriously sorry)

Because I'm majoring in music related things, I've decided to comment on the music in Whitepine! I don't think I've actually done that before, so I will be doing it now.

Now, I'd first like to go over my big favorites and why

This one is one of my main favorites as of late, even though it makes me tear up on occasion. I sometimes feel the need to just dance to it, not to be dramatic. The same goes for Roble, except I feel more thrilled listening to it. Which fits, because Ivory and Serapter are sneaking out again, something they almost got caught doing last time. It's fun.

Now of course, I must mention

One of the best, despite how much it breaks my heart listening to Ivory's sobs. It playing in the credits really makes the gut-wrenching, awful, angry feeling sink in. It doesn't matter whether you think Ivory is the murderer or not, the detective makes everyone uncomfortable, because he's been stalking and harassing a lot of the women at the Whitepine Estate, but now we've seen what he's truly capable of doing.

Oughh this one just makes me soooo ill. Watching the premiere, It was already very somber. But when rewatching it, I just actually felt like I was there. A witness, a participant even. I even texted my friend going "Pyroscythe at the tombstone I'm SICK!" It's such a beautiful piece. Mysty is just a servant from the outside, but she truly cared about Pyro. When he woke up earlier than usual, they were concerned if he had a nightmare. I also think it's worth mentioning how she was in her uniform when she died. Now this could be overanalyzing on my part, but if they hadn't died the previous night and just that morning, do you think they were worried about bringing Pyro his coffee? Or if he had a bad dream again? And although this makes everything more heartbreaking, I've been wondering about what Duke Zolister meant by that story on the protective mama bear.

Oughhggdgfbags. This one. This one. This was my very very big favorite. I don't know why, but I really related to it. No lyrics but it really felt directed to me. I think it was the scene it played in. The way Ivory is focused on the task despite how everyone had the murder on their minds. When this episode came out, I was really dissociating with everything around me. The days kept passing and passing, everything feeling the same, yet my mind just empty. I felt hollow. I wasn't me. This piece really encapsulated that feeling. Everything's so fast and I'm trying to keep up, barely hanging on. Maybe I'm not using the word right but that seems close to what I was feeling.
