The Champions' Chronicle #1 - Ram Steed Makes Horsesh*t?
Welcome to the first installment of The Champions' Chronicle. My intention with this is to seek out and bring you a real insight into the lives and personalities of our Champions here at the Institute of War, as well as reporting on other goings-on. For this first installment, I, Steward-Summoner Ryugi Kazamaru, would like to take a moment to turn the eye of scrutiny upon another recent return to the writing world...
Far be it from me to question another journalist's methods, but, then again, ram-steed-reports is no ordinary journalist. It has recently come to the attention of the Steward Council that he has been publishing falsified and heavily exaggerated claims relating to League Champions such as The Unforgiven, the Sinister Blade, the Exile, The Megling Gunner, The Master Tactician, The Shadow of War and countless others.
Reports of attacks on the man have begun to surface due to outrageous claims and the effects on many lives as a direct result of his articles. One such individual, who did not wish to be named, was even called a "Whore" and attacked verbally after the man published a highly exaggerated and untruthful gossip-filled article regarding the individual.
Some may remember how this man worked to get to the bottom of worrying rumors around the time that the infamous Kalamanda Incident was taking place by interviewing champions like Brand, the Burning Vengeance. His most famous run-in was an interview with the Demon Jester, in which he was brutally attacked, and nearly killed.
It seems that the man's noble pursuits, however, died in the attack, and since his return to the scene after the Journal of Justice fell through, he has produced nothing but slander, gossip, and libelous claims, and published them under the guise of truth.
In closing, this amateur journalist and Steward of the League would like to remind all who may read of Steed's work to discredit it as works of pure fiction. He is an insult to all who call themselves journalists. We, the Stewards, would also like to inform any and all League Champions that Ram Steed is in no way under League Protection as an independent journalist. We cannot control what champions do off the fields any more than we can control what he writes in his works of fantasy. How you decide to use that information is up to you.
That said, going forward, I hope that I will be able to bring you insight into who these champions truly are as people. They are more than celebrities, more than eye-candy fighting for your amusement, they are Champions, individuals, each with a story to tell, and it is my wish to bring that to all of you.
Until next time, dear readers.
