19. Pick a different playable race. In some alternative reality where they are this race instead, how would their character differ?
Ooh, shit. Okay, let’s see.
Ariel as a troll. He probably wouldn’t have been carrying out serial murder on his own brethren - instead, he’d have been picking off non-trolls, especially if he was Amani near Quel’thalas. Which means it’s unlikely he would have been caught and brought to justice, because rather than going quietly he’d have slaughtered everyone in his way and fled back into the forest/jungle. He’d probably still be alive, posing a massive threat to anyone passing through near their territory who might be carrying valuables or looking like they’re hunters/rangers/soldiers. He’d definitely have had a higher purpose for his murder, rather than simply ‘haha look at the aristocracy running around like headless chickens’.
Rat as a gnome. Still a mage, even more obsessed with gadgets. Would never have had a need to prove himself worthy or intelligent enough to study the arcane - would never have seen it as a way to prove to his own kind that he was even more capale than their stodgy shamans. He’d probably be less of an insufferable know-it-all, though, for that reason. Also he presumably would no longer find it hilarious to joke about stepping on gnomes by accident, or eating them. :P
Daddy J… hmm. Let’s make him a night elf for funsies. He would have strenuously resisted going to sleep in the Emerald Dream because he is not any kind of spiritualist. But if I recall correctly, every male night-elf was a druid then, so he would have been a bear druid for sure. He has only ever been made for fighting. Sleeping for 10 thousand years sounds agonising, and he might just have run away and decided to just be a bear all that time rather than go to sleep and hope it helped. He’d rather be awake and murdering demons (and orcs, and ogres, etc etc).
