my fav part of post-cacw fics is reading tony's internal monologue when he sees bucky bc it's like "this kid rocking the hippie hair" or "the assassin w/o the decency to leave his grunge hair in the 90's" and "the hobo look...god someone needs to tell him just how badly he needs a haircut"

I've seen an ocean twice, landlocked my whole life 'a home in the heart of the Switzerland of America' that's a reference to an opera house play you probably wouldn't want to see but I've seen have a dozen times anyway with all my hometown pride, sacred-land eyes even though I still ran away is this what you're feeling when you're with me? so at home in your skin it's like you were sewn right in? comfortable but sick? I've never seen a lighthouse in person but we've got sailboats on the lake so if I stand on my toes and set my hair ablaze-- would you put me out or roast marshmallows? oh, if you could see me now I hope you always forget I wouldn't know how to keep moving forward if this water didn't taste like sand
