Happy (belated) New Years! Thank you so much for hosting Smoshblr December Asks and engaging everyone in the Smoshblr community. It's been a lot of fun and such a nice thing to look forward to every day in December! <3 <3 <3

My favourite smosh-related memory of 2023 is joining Smoshblr this year and interacting with the community here - including Smoshblr December Asks! I've certainly never been this personally active in a fandom on Tumblr, and it's been so much fun and I look forward to checking out what's going on everyday. Ever person, mutual or otherwise, that I've interacted with here has been so kind and welcoming - I love you all <3 <3

Like many people this year, I got back into Smosh in 2023. I used to very casually watch Smosh in varying stages over the years (as a young teen, I specifically remember being obsessed with Lunch Time w/ Smosh), and when the ensemble cast era of smosh began I was a casual viewer once again. In the defy era, I closely followed the Every Blank Ever series, but that is largely it. There must have been something in the air because it was the beginning of the year, a few months before the buy-back announcement, that I got hooked on Games and Pit. I love that Smosh is about friendship first and foremost, and I love personality driven content like Smosh has become. Anthony and Ian buying back Smosh brought me closer into the fandom as well - because the nostalgia and excitement of it was so palpable. I have surely binged a huge junk of the catalog now !

Then came the start of my spirly era and *Spommy Nation* my beloved. As my Smosh love continued, the fanfic lover in me got curious enough to check of the Smosh AO3 - I was already familiar enough to know that Shourtney was the most popular ship; aka that there was smosh fanfic did exist. Let's be clear I was super curious to know if there was Spencer fanfic (redacted out of stan embarrassment; he's just a little guy). I stumbled upon the humble but awesome Spommy tag, which I remember at the time there were two fics (one from @jovenshires and one from @soupy-girl; Spommy Nation founders <3). I don't think I even left comments on those two, now that I think back, because I was still in lurker/anon mode. But, Spommy is an inescapable brain rot that spread quickly (/affectionate). The timeline is blurry to me now, but as you all know now my og Tumblr account slowly but surely turned into a Spencer/Spommy stan account. Funny enough - at the very begining there were so many anon's interacting (also a highlight of the Smoshblr for me is all the distinctly nicknamed anon's @jovenshires had and has) that I did feel nervous coming off anon (the very short stint I spent anoning lol). The day DOMO dropped and so many anon's publicly joined smoshblr officially is a moment in smosblr/spommy nation history to me - it was so fun to witness the collective enjoyment and brain rot reach a new level.

The smoshblr community is so much fun and full of camaraderie that it is easy and a joy to engage with - it is surely one of the friendliest and enjoyable fandoms I have observed/participated in. I could tag a bunch of people here, but I am afraid that I will forget someone. Thank you to all the wonderful creators in this space and everyone who makes it such a fun and friendly space!
