In the PoV it says that Ramiel realized he loves Gabriel but does he still feel that way in the present? ngl im getting some sort of sadistic glee at the idea of Ramiel being the one with unrequited feelings now

Yep. But Ramiel expects Gabriel to have moved on. He doesn’t expect anything to come of his feelings, and he will not make the first move. Ramiel’s arc is more focused on atonement in the present. He realizes he’s screwed up; he believes he sealed his fate long ago. He just wants Gabriel to be safe and happy.

It’ll be hard to inflict any sort of emotional pain on him that he feels like he doesn’t deserve already.

When we meet Ramiel again can we be apprehensive/wary of him if you loved him (and still do), but still want to pursue him? Like all that Heartbreak and Angst from the fae village and the trial just come rushing back?

I plan to let you express yourself as being wary but willing to give it a go. I won’t say that it all comes rushing back, as it has been a good thousand plus years since that event, but you can definitely remember how you felt and state that you don’t ever want to feel that because of Ramiel again.
